EMMA & JOHNNY

Emma Stenberg was born and raised in a small village, 3 miles north west of Skellefteå, Sweden. She discovered the guitar at the age of 12 and wrote her first song at the age of 15. She spent her teenage years dreaming about America and music. At the age of 18 she packed her bags and spent the next 13 months in Charlotte, North Carolina living her dream. She came back to Skellefteå, Sweden 1999 with tons of memories and inspiration, and along came songs like "the cowboy" and "waters edge". Emma moved to Manhattan, New York USA in 2002, where she spent one and a half year having the time of her life. The Big Apple gave her the courage to walk up on stage - it was in august 2003, at an open mic night at C-note on Manhattan. Emma then played everywhere she could and to anyone who would listen. In december 2004 she played at the CBGB Downstairs lounge and one year later, during a visit she returned to this historical rockclub once again to perform. During this visit 2005 she also got the chanse to play at the Bitter End. Emma meet a lot of really talented people in NY - with a never ending love to music and to the great city. Her love for New York and the people she meet there grows bigger every day. Emma returned home to Skellefteå in 2004 after a wonderful time in N.Y. The same year she meet Johnny Johansson - her musical match.Johnny Johansson was born and raised in Skellefteå, Sweden. He started his musical career at a very early age believe it or not but as a drummer in a death/trash metal band called Delition at the age of 11. About the same time he found his true calling the guitar and his passion for song writing. The following years Johnny played in different bands such as Reach and after the Purusam era the Skellefteå band Karma Chosmic The first big brake thru came in 1995 with the band that would turn Johnny into a guitar hero - Purusam. The metal/hardcore band released one miniCD, 2 albums and one 7inch between 1995-1998. Tours followed in Sweden, Norway and northen Europe playing with such acts as Refused, Nine and As Friends Rust. Calm Chaos (check out www.calmchaos.net) drafted Jonny in 2004, a Pimp Core/Nu Metal band from Skellefteå who recently toured Europe with the Swedish metal band Clawfinger. Their first album Melody of Mokus released in 2005 has been a big success in countries like Japan and Taiwan. In 2004 Emma introduced Johnny to new genre country/folk/Americana, a genre Johnny took to his heart. He might be Swedens first Metal Cowboy.Emma & Johnny are right now working on a new demo with the legendary producer Kjell Nästén.
