The band Brotherhood of Broken Hearts was formed in 2005 by Gustav Sjöstedt and Björn Larsson in the town of Umeå in the north of Sweden. We were eager to try and play some different kind of music than we had played before we started this band. Björn has played in numerous punk bands and Gustav has done a little of everything.
Gustav does all the percussion and synthesised noise while Björn does all guitar work. This however changes from time to time. We mainly write the songs together as a group though.
After doing a few tunes we realized that we needed someone who could actually sing so we contacted a friend of a friend, Arvid Norberg. We liked his singing a lot and he liked the music and so he joined the band. It was really great that Arvid joined the band because he is such a nice guy.
We recorded three tunes in the UpSweden studio in the fall of 2005. More songs are to be recorded this year. The new songs are finished but we can’t really find the time to go and record them. All of us are busy with school and work. But we promise that new songs are going to be released as soon as possible.
When we make music we try to do the best we can. There is no real goal to sound like this or that band or fit into different genres. As a group we make music to explore our creativity. We also try to make music we ourselves would like to listen to. The only goal for this project is to have fun when we make and play music. And we have a lot of fun when we play together.
