Postcards from my life
(from manzarock blog)
To make music is to taste life with a singular approach. Mainly, those small and little things that surrounds our everyday life that we do without even noticing: the first time in the morning, to have a cup of coffee, to make up our bed, to watch out of the window or to go to the shop for some groceries. And the perfect soundtrack for those pretty snapshots must be nice tunes to turn these moments into caring memories, arpeggios enclosed in tiny innocence capsules. Ivan formed Callahan, coming clean out of his 90s electronic background, to elaborate these very small songs, little tickles that makes your day, songs to play just before taking a nap or to come with us in a short bicycle ride. 'Postales', with its direct reference about leaving and traveling, brings us four nice songs. 'Souvenir', a perfect quick departure theme, to catch just a few clothes, pick a couple cd's - your favorite ones or mixtapes if you like- and split leaving just a small note behind; 'Postales', for the farewell, the accomplice hug with the one in whose hands you place your destiny, the subtle kiss and the so long; 'Conversazione', to play while watching the landscape pass by, the road ahead and the road leaving behind towards a destination you haven't choose yet, and finally, 'Boarding Pass', that would become a beautiful welcome theme to wherever you had arrived, with the joy of having a lot of new places and people to know. Here is where 'Postales' ends. (you can now play those cds you brought for the rest of your trip). One thing for sure, play it again for your way back home. Five different package colors to choose from, five different stamps with each one, five minutes to enjoy. because small and little things are what life is made of.
