I was born in Rimini on November the 5th of 1981. I began playing keyboards at the age of 9 as a self-taught, shortly after I started to take private lessons to improve my technique and skill. After three years I stopped the studies because I didnt enjoy anymore this activity and I wanted to start playing live with real bands. Then I started with some groups playing cover versions of various rock tunes. Then in 1997 I was recruited as official keyboard player by the band Hortus Animae, a musical reality that introduced me to extreme metal. Since then I've been one of the three main songwriters of the band, bringing my melodical taste to the black metal background of the act. My main influences have always been Queen, Dire Straits and Pink Floyd, then, in the metal genre I've been inspired by the works of bands such as Opeth, My Dying Bride, Nevermore, Cradle Of Filth, Anathema, Emperor, Darkthrone, HIM to name a few all bands of the so called dark side, acts that deliver true darkness with their music, both when its mellow and when its heavy. With Hortus Animae I recorded 3 full length albums (The Melting Idols, Waltzing Mephisto, The Blow Of Furious Winds) and a cover version of the songs Windfall / Summoning Of The Muse for the Black Lotus Records Dead Can Dance tribute The Lotus Eaters, song which featured Liv Kristine on vocals, on her first project after quitting Theatre Of Tragedy. The live activity of Hortus Animae has been sporadic but with few important gigs supporting band such as Ancient (ex band of Hortus Animaes drummer GroM), Lacuna Coil, Napalm Death, Konkhra, Necrodeath, Mortuary Drape Then I followed my will to explore other genres, even outside metal, so I joined forces with many cover bands playing music from hard rock to jazz, country etc In 2000 I also started my jorney as lead singer, an activity that now keeps me happily busy as an appreciate frontman of 4 bands, who play from 80s hard rock to thrash metal. With all these bands I increased my live activity to the highest point, having reached an average of 70 gigs per year. Finally I also began an activity as a respected session player, helping many local bands both for live and studio duties, but also with bigger acts such as Ancient for a couple of gigs in Milan and festivals in Europe like the Skeleton Bash festival 2004 in Innsbruck, where the bill included My Dying Bride and Pungent Stench. Keyboard has always been my main passion, an instrument which allows me to give sound to my feelings and ideas, a goal that I achieved during almost 9 years of Hortus Animae. One things for sure: my uncompromising love for music will be the biggest part of my life from now on, just like it was for the last 15 years.
