With a strong love for underground hip-hop and passion for traditional jazz, this Mississippi born trumpeter is trying to make his mark in Dallas,TX. Dallas being a popular home for smooth jazz, neo-soul, and hip-hop has allowed Alcedrick to explore and further continue his musical growth.Born Alcedrick Tonyvonshon Todd on October 20, 1974, the Hattiesburg,Mississippi native started trumpet while attending Comuex High School in Lafayette,Louisiana at the age of 14. It wasn't until becoming a senior that Todd expressed a desire to study music. After graduating high school he began doing shows with The Larry Anderson Combo out of Monroe,Louisiana. Later Alcedrick was seen with Howard Shaft (a high energy funk band) and L.C. Smoove also from Monroe. In 1997 Alcedrick Todd attended the University of Louisiana Lafayette as a jazz studies major. Within two year's of study the trumpeter was asked to audition for the jazz chair of The World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra. Brother Alcedrick was the first African-American to become a member in the most recent years.Alcedrick Todd has performed with artists such as Jazzhead, Chubby Carrier, Bo Didly, Tito Jackson,The Equinox Jazz Orchesrta, The Skyliners, Shin Oshida, Iris Matango, Walter "wolfman" Washinton, James Andrews, Rebecca Barry, Ted Ludwig, Garth Alper, Quamon Fowller, Adonis Rose, Stanton Moore, The Army Blues Jazz Ensemble, Ike Turner, Carl Fontana, The Neville Brothers, Charmaine Neville, Marc Broussard, Derrik Trucks Band, Dr. John, The Louisiana Tech University Band of Pride, The UTA Jazz Orchestra, and The Fort Worth Jazz Orchesrta.
