I recently parted ways w/ the band 60 Second Crush, and their CD, "Street Corner of Fear" also has examples of my playing on it. Check em out, they rock! I also write guitar instrumentals, all of which I'll be showcasing on this page. I decided to make this page to help get my music out there as well as meet other musicians, bands, music industry types as well as those who love music (especially guitar! LOL). Konniption Fit is a band I've had in the works for years. This band is kind of my baby in a way, since alot of the material I had a large part in writing & have spent a good portion singing and playing guitar in the band as well. Its kind of a commercial punk pop type band, and really explores my more commercial songwriting side and less of my lead guitarist pyrotechnics side... I think of it as early Green Day meets Nirvana meets the Beatles... sorta...LOL Things have really been picking up w/ this band recently, including adding 2 female members, an upcoming CD, and a slew of awesome shows! Keep your eyes peeled for us! We'll be in your face soon!

Influences:I started really getting into guitar after hearing some of the early Ozzy recordings w/ Randy Rhoads and really digging in deep w/ that. I also was amazed w/ the legato, feel, melody and knowledge of Joe Satriani pretty early on as well... I started takin private lessons right from the beginning, and also took formal classical lessons for a bit at the same time. I started delving more & more into technique players who also had a sense of melodicism. for me, technique w/out melodicism is pretty worthless. I can honestly say ive never been 1 of those guys thats been into using the guitar to just make noise either... anyways, I got into bands like Racer X, Cacophony, and any other Shrapnel Records guitarist I could get my hands on! In high school my social life was about zero, and I spent everday practicing scales & exercises for 6 hours a day on a $60 acoustic w/ the heaviest gauge strings I could find. LOL I was pretty much guitar-obsessed at that point-living & breathing it at all times. After high school, I ended up studying music at WSU for about 2 years. Its always been my goal from day 1 to sound like me though... i've never idolized other guitarists to the point of wanting to sound just like someone else. Ive picked up things here and there from guitarists, and have immense respect for SOO many musicians, but I've always thought it important to be the best ME I could be, and not the best copy of someone else.
Gear:My live gear these days is mostly PRS & Gibson guitars, Marshall Amps, Krank Amps, EMG pick-ups & a mix of pedals from MXR, Dunlop, Morley, & Line 6. I like to live by the acronym K.I.S.S. which for me translates to: Keep It Simple Stupid! LOL I try not to get too muddled up w/ too many things in my live rig, cuz Ive done it in the past & when something goes wrong, it can be a nightmare trying to isolate whats wrong...especially in front of a crowd of intoxicated rockers who paid good $ to hear ya! LOL
