ABOUT
The Free Souls sound is primarily composed, arranged and produced by myself from the studio in southwest Cornwall. However with guest musicians and vocalists adding new elements, styles and inspiration to our sound, id prefer to call The Free Souls a collective.
Although the sounds are electronically based, warmth, depth and beauty are of the most importance. Blending acoustic and electronic instruments, with vocals and sounds from the world around us.
Plans for the future are to evolve from the studio based project that we currently are, to a live electronic acoustic act. We are open to offers with regards to music for film, compilations and remixes. Our debut album is due in 2007.
In the future we hope to reach out and help people with less by using our music as a vehicle to increase the awareness of emotional and physical poverty, and enviromental issues.
THE RELEASE
The album tracklist and tracks will all remain a mystery untill close to the release. Also the release date is now unconfirmed. As for what to expect vibewise for the album, it'll be more upbeat and uplifting than previous material. Tracks will range from deep atmospheric trip hop, to warm uplifting electronic acoustic crossovers and upbeat dubby bass driven beats.
Ive been working with a couple of amazing musicians on the release so far. Established blues/folk slide guitarist Martin Harley has been working on the release. His style is truly mindblowing, its an interesting combination of styles that's making for a great sound. Also the highly talented violinst Katy Rowe will also be playing on various tracks of different styles. Her own style in sound is bringing a beautifully rich element to the release.
REVIEWS/RECOMMENDATIONS
The Free Souls official website features a Reviews/Reccomendations Page which is updated monthly. Featuring new releases, highly recommended albums and a track of the month. A wide range of musical styles are covered from acoustic to electronic.
REMIXES
Feel free to approach me with regards to the Free Souls remixing of your own tracks for potential release, there is a Free Souls remix of Heaven originally written by Lamb on both of our websites as an example. Also if you're interested in remixing our music you're welcome to contact us.
FILM
