Deya Dova is an innovative vocalist and singer songwriter, renowned for her unique soulfilled voice and amazing live performances. Deya Dova has pioneered her own musical style through blending roots in the ancient musical traditions with live looping technology to create a truly unique world music sound. Her music traverses tribal chant, world beat, soul and resonates with Arabic, African, Asian, Aboriginal and Balkan scales.
With her debut album So Bravely Human, Deya won two NCEIA Dolphin Awards (Album of the Year and Best Female vocal) and based herself in Europe to play a variety of festivals and tours. 2006 saw the release of the The Jasmani Garden featuring Deya’s stunning and unique vocal layering and improvisations. The album earnt a MusicOz nomination for Best World Music Artist and continues to inspire and move people across all genres. Deya also regularly appears as a guest vocalist with Wild Marmalade and has worked on projects with Avashai Barnatan (Sheva) and Mapmaker Films(UK).
Deya Dova's live show brings the music from her albums fully to life with her totally captivating stage presence and pure creative force. Performing with her vocal looper and computer to trigger samples, she effortlessly creates rich layers and grooves that span the sublimely beautiful to pumping drum n bass. Deya's shows have received an overwhelming response from audiences everywhere, gathering an almost cult following. Deya weaves her powerful feminine presence and down to earth sense of humour to create an inspiring and uplifting show carrying a message of unified humanity beyond language, race and religion.

Deya Dova is originally from Ceduna in South Australia where the desert meets the ocean, Deya’s childhood growing up in the vivid landscapes and with the Aboriginal people of the area has had a deep impact on her both as an individual and an artist, shaping her unique creativity. Deya now works from her own studio in Northern NSW where she lives with her partner and three children.
