About Me

So, yeah, I like to tell stories...I've had a few science fiction and fantasy stories published, mostly in small venues, including Millennium Science Fiction and Fantasy Magazine, the Fundamentally Challenged CD anthology and the antho Twisted Cat Tales... I show up at a LOT of conventions, where I talk about biology-related topics - everything from "Life on Mars" to "Alien Sex" (I'm a cell & molecular biologist by training)...so if you're at a con, look me up and come say hi - I'll be friendly, talk your ear off and get you into all the cool parties...Beyond my writing, I like doing things that I would have my characters do...things like sailing a two-masted schooner, rock climbing, trudging up mountains to see an awesome waterfall or lake where no one else is around, kayaking with whales, martial arts, those kinds of things...I also write a ton of nonfiction, mostly for pet and health magazines, on scintillating topics like "The Latest in Rabbit Toys"...(and the stories I could tell you about that one!)I live in Seattle, but I grew up in New Orleans and still hold a bit of interest/fascination/ties with that city. (Not to mention the fact that EVERYONE in my family lives there except me and one cousin).
