It seems my interests are shrinking by the month, especially since I hurt my back. Currently, I'm interested in going to see live bands and I'm again very interested in joining a band or forming my own. I like watching and writing about MMA. In recent history, I was involved with a local theatre group and I dabbled in some sports, which included my yearly attempts to play football and my formerly-regular dalliance with martial arts. Apparently, it looks like a cross between violence and sex. However, as a gay icon in 10 countries, it's not like I'm letting the side down.
I love watching sports of any kind with the exception of ice hockey, especially football and MMA. I used to be a huge wrestling fan but, alas, the love has faded.
I think this section is really vague. Do I list celebrities I like or admire? Hot redheaded actresses? West Ham players I'd like to talk some sense into? Amusing people?
70s soul, funk, electro funk, underground hip-hop, hard bop, 80's/90's indie (and their followers), cheesy early 80s metal, 70s rock. Bit of everything to be honest and I think I'm relatively open-minded. If we're going to list bands/albums; Sly and the Family Stone, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Bobby Womack, "Superfly" by Curtis Mayfield, Rick James, The Gap Band, Leon Ware, Jurassic 5, Crown City Rockers, MURS, "Kamaal the Abstract" by Q-Tip, The Stone Roses, Oasis, Primal Scream (before their electro period), Rolling Stones, The Who, Black Sabbath, Saxon, Van Halen (with DLH), Whitesnake.... phew, not scratched the surface there. Oh, I also like 90s R&B.
Favourite movie of all-time is Swingers. I finally came up with my top 10. In no particular order; Swingers, Clerks, This is Spinal Tap, Major League, Bull Durham, the Secret of my Success, Goodfellas, Singin' in the Rain, Airplane and My Cousin Vinnie.
Charlie Brooker's Screenwipe. Lost, Life on Mars and Veronica Mars are currently top of the tree. In the summer, I very much enjoy Entourage and the Closer. My other favourite other shows of the past few years are The West Wing, Chappelle's Show and CSI.
Non-fiction - Sports, left-wing/anti-corporate, well-written biographies.
Fiction - mystery novels, "bloke books".
I don't have any heroes I can think of.
