What can be said about an upcoming band in today’s Alternative/Rock scene? They all sound the same? There is no real talent out there? Screw you guys I’m going to listen to country? (ok maybe not that one…..or maybe). If any of those answers was yours or something along those lines, you should take the time to check out Hast Past Eternity (HPE). HPE has been and currently is breaking the mold by forming unique musical landscapes that please the ear and demand the push of the repeat all button on your iPod, Zune, or CD player.

Band Bio:
HPE officially formed in December 2002 as a group of guys that loved to jam. In 2005, HPE took a bold new step switching the gender of their vocalist. From this new, energetic female voice, HPE earned radio airplay and MTV notoriety. However, tragedy struck in August of 2005 in the form of Hurricane Katrina when guitarist Scott was obligated to be part of the relief effort and work in New Orleans. By early 2006, the members' personal lives and commitments caused the collapse of HPE.
In late 2006, Scott decided HPE was not something he would give up on without a fight. His revived vision for the band encompassed new styles in the forms of more up-tempo music and uplifting lyrical content, migrating away from the Creed-esque solid rock format.
With this new vision in mind, HPE finally became the band that only destiny could have envisioned. Ryan and Scott varnish the surface with a myriad of solid guitar progressions, intriguing riffs, and vibrant solos. Nick, who rivals the best bassists out there, pounds through the rhythms in a dynamic way with his non-traditional lines. And Yuya... well Yuya is Yuya. This “self-contained explosion” keeps everyone in tempo while throwing in a creative blast of fills throughout the songs. Then, there is Ashleigh. In a world of diverse male vocalists and poppy and scandalous female vocalists, Ashleigh exhibits raw, beautiful, untainted power that only singers blessed with such natural talent can display.
HPE continues to hold writing/rehearsal sessions, from which numerous songs and styles have come forth. Ranging from Rock to Power Pop, Progressive to Melodic, and Alternative to Ballads, HPE redefines the boundaries of musical creativity through colorful blends of every style.
Exhilarated by its final metamorphosis, HPE is ready to revamp and redefine the musical world today. So look for an upcoming HPE performance near you, and be ready to rock out as hard as you can.
