A little old fashioned, a little modern - you're the best of both worlds. And so is Amsterdam.
Whether you want to be a squatter graffiti artist or a great novelist, Amsterdam has all that you want in Europe (in one small city). What European City Do You Belong In?

My Interests

If I could be anywhere right now I'd drive on a six month tour of Europe. Get up early, go for a hike or bike ride (nothing torturous though!), then go on a drive somewhere new to explore. Also, read a book, see a movie, go to the beach, hang out with friends, eat out, hear live music, Travel with Jen if possible. I'm up for almost anything. I hate sports, just like being outdoors. Lately been spending time woodshedding with my new Acoustic Bass Guitar.

I'd like to meet:

Living: His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Samantha Brown, Bjork, Doc Watson, Tony Rice, Les Paul.... Dead: JACO, Jimi Hendrix,John Lennon, Albert Einstein, Johann S Bach, A. Mozart, J.R.R. Tolkien, Leonardo Da Vinci, Andres Segovia, Salvador Dali, Mother Teresa, M Ghandi, John Coltrane, Guatama Buddha, Che, Leo Fender, Alan Watts ... Just a small list, I could really go on and on...!

Music:

What can I say, I really enjoy anything that doesn't smack of wanton commercialism. My ipod will play a Blind Blake song, then a 15 minute Shakti raga and the some Bjork, a little Bluegrass, and always Bach, the god of music. As long as it is real, I dig it.I'm really glad, this is what I most enjoy doing, that and making love.

Movies:

I prefer drama's, foreign, all of Akira Kurosawa Samurai flicks, good SciFi, intelligent comedies. My favorites are: the 5th Element, Blade Runner, the first Matrix, Apocalypse Now, Amelie, The Life of Brian. The 1977 Star Wars, Cinema Paradiso. I recently enjoyed "What the @!*&#^ Do We Know", "The Dinner Guest"(awesome French comedy...see it!)....really too many to list

Television:

Not too much to hold my interest really. I spend most of my TV time watching the Travel channel, I guess I travel vicariously. Someday, someday. I love the Black Adder series, the Young Ones, the Venture Brothers, Robot Chicken, and Metalocalypse. I stopped watching the news over the past year, and I am happier for it. Still like to watch the BBC news, but most of my news comes from NPR.

Books:

Too many to list. Right now, I am reading "Building Eric Clapton's Guitar"( Cool!), "Both Sides Now "(Joni Mitchell),and "Secrets & Mysteries of the World" by Slvia Browne. Also a bunch of music books...I need to improve. Recently: the Tampa Triangle (Thanks Mark), The Ethics of Eating,Universal Compassion and the New Meditation Hanbook, Vegan Cooking for One, Natural Health Natural Medicine, Natural Kitchen, re-read "the Communist manifesto" By Marx and Engels. My favorites are the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, the Dune series, Moby Dick, Alice in Wonderland, Zen Guitar, Siddhartha, the Journeyer-Marco Polo by Gary Jennings (awesome!) the Tao Te Ching, Cosmos ....I can go on you know.

Heroes:

Same as want to meet list, mostly...
