About Me

Charlene is one of the most favorable up-and-coming artists of the new year. Her inevitable rise toward fame, while in the making, is obvious upon hearing her soon to be released sophomore album, "Shine Down On Me". This raw talent was Born on February 1, 1969, She grew up in the small Irish community of South Boston, Massachusetts. The eldest of five sisters and brothers, she spent most of her childhood playing in the projects and attending community centers. Talent shows were a favorite of this young girl. Always having had a taste for music, she participated in local music, acting, and comedy shows in her hometown.
Although new to the music world, Charlene is not new to entertaining crowds. She has toured the local scene for quite a while, playing acoustic sets for several while accruing a fanbase with her music and her love for it. While her debut album, "Rain" was couched in lush, moody folk sound with a country feel, her new arrangements are notably less airy-fairy, with subtle but effective alternative beats just beneath the surface. A self taught guitarist, Charlene is also no stranger to songwriting. Having written a wide collection of material, she brings forth an amazing selection of songs that will be suitable for all listeners. The production is less muddled, with sharper hooks and distinctive melodies, allowing Charlene’s mezzo soprano vocals to captivate even more this time around.
When completed, "Shine Down On Me" will certainly be, without a doubt, a must-have for your collection. Continue to check back for the newest updates, tracks, information, and tour dates.

Band Members: Although, I am no longer working with
Peter Bell , who has performed on major recordings with Bonnie Raitt and the James Montgomery Blues Band, and who has produced Livingston Taylor, The New Kids on the Block, Layla Hathaway, Rebecca Parris and many others. I thank him for his outstanding job on helping produce this album and his great job on capturing my ideas. Also I'd like to thank him for doing it my way, and for the countless hours in the studio to get it completed.

I'd also like to thank
Monica Lynk , who has performed live with many well known recording artists including Roy Hargrove, Nicholas Payton, Kevin Mahogany, Oleta Adams, Andre Crouch, Teodross Avery, CeCe Winans, and Will Downing, for adding such style to the songs with her beautiful background vocals, and working so hard with me to finish the album.

Sounds Like:

My sound on the previous album is more of a folksy/rock/country sound. My newer music is more alternative/rock. Working hard here. Almost finished with the new stuff. Hang tight.
