Stuff about me

About Me

I'm a guitarist of too many years to mention, and have played in pubs to stadiums (well at least one) since I was 12!. I Have played all over Europe and the U.S. It beats working for a living. I currently play live with a Rock and Roll Band called Juke-Box Eddies. It's the first time I've done this stuff, and it's great fun. I also Play with a Country Rock band from Manchester called John McCane and The Last Of The Breed....which usually features on drums Paul Burgess from 10CC. I have a new project in the pipeline with 3 of my MySpace friends, all of whom I've worked with in the past, and they are the best!!!. I enjoy playing live over most other aspects of my professional life as not many people get a round of applause at the end of their working day........I'm a great music lover and enjoy all sorts of stuff, from Bluegrass to Heavy Rock.....no blinkers on me. I recently auditioned for Van Morrison and was told the job was mine......then his guitarist decided to stay on and it suddenly wasn't. It was a great experience to rehearse for 2 days with a band of world class worldwide musicians and be complimented on every solo though. Still, we plod on waiting for the big break. I've appeared playing guitar on TV, live radio, and even the Silver Screen alongside Demi Moore last year. But it's all in a days work I suppose. You take the rough with the rough in this job. I do a bit of session work for the BBC, mainly for kids TV programmes like Ballamory and Bob the Builder, shameful to a degree admitedly but it pays the bills, and you never know here the next session might come from....I even did some demo's ages ago for Darren Day....but don't tell anyone, and I shoulda charged a helluva lot more than I did!! So!! Anyone out there need a pro guitarist? NO TIME WASTERS ;-)

My Interests

Music (obviously), Oh and my rabbits Wallis and Gromit

I'd like to meet:

David Gilmour, Gerry Douglas and last but not possible John Lennon, but quite seriously, I'd like to meet anyone who can give me some good gigs.

Music:

As I've said I like everything from Bluegrass to Heavy Rock.

Movies:

Tarrantino. A good suspense is always fun, maybe.... oh I don't know...King Kong......only joking. A few good men is a gud'n.

Television:

Comedy as long as it's funny. Old stuff, (cos I am) Frasier was the best after all the classic British sitcoms. Documentaries, cos I find that I learn more than I ever did at school, and now that I'm older, I'm more interested.

Books:

Just read The DaVinci Code. As most people I was enthralled. I won't blow the ending for anyone out there reading it..........so No Comment. I'm just about to start on Angels and Demons (the prequel) But probably the best and most open Biography I ever read was The Survivor.....Eric Clapton's authourised biography. I'm not a fan particularly but it was very open and revealing about what a lifetime of abuse can do to you, good ending though!! I've gotta pick up The God Delusion now it's just been released in paperback.

Heroes:

Mostly guitarists, or Musicians. Albert Lee, David Gilmour, Roger Waters (nobody writes better lyrics) Brent Mason, James Burton, Gary Moore, Joe Walsh, Steve Lukather, Chet Atkins, anyone who plays with feel rather than a blur of notes, so TOP of the list BB. KING. THE MASTER.
