About Me

Early influences were the Beatles at the Cavern and the Roadrunners at Hope Hall then started gigging with a couple of starter bands love minus zero/ Fagins Cupboard then Colonel Bagshot, yes that's the way to spend your youth, good old fashioned sex, drugs 'n' rock n roll . Loads of rock 'n' roll yarns ,on the road, did a European tour with Slade and several German Hamburg/Bitburg and Munich stints which were wilder than wild . After Bagshots , I recorded a solo album for Warner Bros, with some cool dudes , like Zoot Money, Viv Stanshall, Andy Roberts, B.J.Cole, Mike Gregory and other top merchants , and around the same time recorded some stufff with a band that included Big Jim Sullivan and Chas Hodges and Dave Peacock, who later became "Chas + Dave" . The next band after Baggies was "The Brownies" and other incarnations of Bagshots , around this time I made my first trip to America and recorded a couple of tracks in Los Angeles , then I went doing the duo/ solo circuit , and for six years played with Bob Galvin in a duo called Traffic, then briefly A-Team, Shifty Henry etc . Anyway gigged on for another million years, then D.J.Shadow covered my "Six Day War" , which featured in a couple of films . Have been in a nice country band called Hambone for several years with amongst others Kenny Parry from Bagshots , but had started drifting back to solo work . In the middle of all that had a duo with John Pettifer, we nicked the name "Shifty Henry" for that as well .
