About Me

Random Audio Records started two years ago as an idea between a group of friends who produced & DJ'd around the local [Devon, UK] free party scene. Because there wasn't much of a music industry presence west of Bristol we decided to start our own label that promotes distinctive music of any genre - Random Audio Records was born.
Our first 12" Vinyl by Rex (Rare Vortex) was released dec 2005 - the A side 'Funktion' is a bouncy tech-funk fuelled breaks affair & the flip side 'Funky Ass' is a darker rolling bass driven tune. The track has had strong support from Ben & Lex, Andromeda, Stamper, Jusme & has been hammered all over the rave scene.
Our second 12" release has recently been distributed - "Massaka" a live Drum n Bass track by Bristol legends Blackout dnb with a dance floor dnb remix on the flip from AKA. The record has gone down very well & has had some strong reviews online - If you're into live drum & bass this is an essential! Also check for the Blackout dnb album on Random Audio @ some time next year.

We played at Avantrural [Deviock] festival in Cornwall 2005 on the DibDub Soundsystem. Later that year we held the launch party for Funktion @ Plymouth University with General Midi. Summer 2006 we launched Massaka @ Ashton Court festival on the ampitheatre stage, Bristol.
We also have two CD albums in the pipeline for release in late 2006, early 2007.
The first, with an advanced 12" promo (A. Loop Da Loop / AA. Sub Skank) is from bassline wobbilness mastercraftsmen Jellybass - the album, titled "LoHz" has already been causing quite a stir online & in the press with some very impressive reviews from Jo Daley, Sam @ Tesselate, Udy @ www.underyournose.co.uk & an incredible review from Computer Music magazine quoting "LoHz" as "...among the best music ever featured in the Listening Lounge." - These guys are going to be huge!!!!!
Our second album project is from Nottingham based musician / producer 'Lokumu' - His album is a beautifully crafted piece of chilled-out, ambient delight for all you downtempo heads with two or three of the tracks featuring the soulful female vocals courtesy of Lucy Morrow - very much along the lines of Bonobo, Zero 7 & Nightmares on wax -Absolutley gorgeous music - Watch this space!!!!!
We feel that now is a good time to step up a gear and show more people who we are and what we do.
