I'd like to meet:

People who like reading, writing, and animals, people who are concerned about the many plights of third world countries, people who are willing to speak out about animal cruelty, child abuse, racism, homophobia, genocide and religious 'cleansing', people who care about our earth enough to conserve energy and recycle, people who take personal responsibility and don't sue because they spilled hot coffee & burned themselves or ate too many burgers & ended up fat, people who are willing to speak their mind even though the majority may disagree, people who know there are too many crazies in the world to allow their children outside alone and that it only takes five seconds for their child to vanish forever, people who can laugh at themselves and occasionally watch a silly reality tv show.

Music:

Design by Pure LayoutsR&B; Soul, Gospel, Contemporary Pop, Some Punk, Classical, Some Heavy Rock, and PLAY that FUNKY music! I'm open to anything really - I don't close my mind to an artist because of the genre they're placed in by the music industry. However, I cannot listen to a band that's only popular because of their image or reputation. There's this thinktank of marketing execs who continue to promote mediocre talent to the mindless masses. When is the public going to speak up and demand only the best? Stop buying cd's just because they're in the 'new release' section and the singer has purple hair & tattoos! Stop making people rich on your minimum wage income only to own what your peers own. Be discriminatory and opinionated and your taste will be rewarded.

Movies:

I buy a lot of dvds but only the good ones - Planet Earth dvds - get them!

Books:

Along A Ruined Sea by Larry Kuechlin - coming soon via Deadbeat Publishing

Heroes:

My daughter Shelby - b.1990/d.1991, my parents, my maternal grandmother, my husband, Maya Angelou (her life story is fantastical - what a triumphant human being), Sylvia Plath, Martin Luther King Jr.And about my hubby - he is first, very intelligent - emotionally and academically. He is sensitive, hardworking, practical, gorgeous, a wicked guitar player, funny, kind to animals and children, quietly contemplative at times, supportive of me and my interests - when I succeed and when I fail. I just adore him. Yes, I'm a sap but ain't it grand to love someone with everything you've got? Why not tell the world?Shhh ... I'm writing

Sex is a Potent Poet

If you think you love me, think on this:   I deserted purity long ago, when crafty cruelty first lifted its enormous head and winked.   So out of proportion to my budding child-woman ...

Your Tender Rot (poem) - postdated for new readers (sorry Si)

Remember when your bold-blue veins bulged under the glare of paparazzi?   Your birthrights, birthmarks all concealed from fame.   We have aged the same.   Your famous freckles arriv...

Pernicious (poem) - rewrite

Pernicious   You violated my childhood. Your violent eyes and shrewd sick smile   ruptured my innocence, perverted, without consequence - defiled   life into nasty nightmares. Cowerin...

Crapulence (poem - first draft)

Stretch wide that colossal corporate grin but know that those teeth do not blind bright-white.   They are ancient dolmens, dulled by avarice and chipped by company crown chakras.   That fla...

Balls (by Lady Lazarus & Tranquil Eyes) - bumped 'cause I like it

His Balls   "I've got the world by its balls", he bragged, (as he grabbed his own set).   I winced and shifted away from him.   All the while wishing it was my hand on his crotc...

The Crash (a poem)
