Swallowed stars, spray light through your lips. How you consume the night.. My night. The sweet abse

About Me

I used to live in the greater Seattle area, but I have recently re-located to Las Vegas. I love to read and watch movies. I am such a couch potato! I like to walk on the trail head but serious extreme exercise? Not happening my friend! Well, that's not completely true...but you really have to talk me into it. I am 5'5, 165 (but the diet begins now!), dark brown hair, and green eyes. I have led an interesting life, not all of it was pretty... I love my cat. I love all animals, but I have an especial affinity for the feline. I like to race my car (I have a 88 Cadillac...don't laugh! I've won money in that baby!) and I like to shoot guns. The best gun I have ever shot? AR15. Sweet, smooth, very little recoil. I play a pretty good game of pool and I kick ass at Scrabble. I didn't used to camp, but I discovered R.V. camping isn't so bad. However, a nice hotel would never be turned down. I am absolutely terrible at managing money. I get some and damn if I don't spend it! I am kinda messy. There are always piles of books and papers in my space... Book I am currently reading: "Book Of Longing" by Leonard Cohen... Best movie I saw this month: "Rendition"... Spend my time: Surfing the net, reading, writing, going out with friends ... Religion: I gave at the office ... Favourite single malt: The Balvenie Portwood

You are The Empress

Beauty, happiness, pleasure, success, luxury, dissipation.

The Empress is associated with Venus, the feminine planet, so it represents, beauty, charm, pleasure, luxury, and delight. You may be good at home decorating, art or anything to do with making things beautiful.

The Empress is a creator, be it creation of life, of romance, of art or business. While the Magician is the primal spark, the idea made real, and the High Priestess is the one who gives the idea a form, the Empress is the womb where it gestates and grows till it is ready to be born. This is why her symbol is Venus, goddess of beautiful things as well as love. Even so, the Empress is more Demeter, goddess of abundance, then sensual Venus. She is the giver of Earthly gifts, yet at the same time, she can, in anger withhold, as Demeter did when her daughter, Persephone, was kidnapped. In fury and grief, she kept the Earth barren till her child was returned to her.

The Star Tours ride at Disneyland.. Music.. Fresh baked bread. I bake a loaf once a week and the smell is just heaven.. driving through Colorado and coming around the bend and all of a sudden, those mountains are RIGHT THERE (when I was there and I drove around the bend, I had to pull off to the side of the road and just sit there, drinking it all in. It almost made me cry. I will never forget it).. Mai Tai's.. The colour RED .. Noir.. being at the edge of the ocean with the sand between my toes watching the waves come crashing in; the smell of salt water in my nose.. poetry.. art.. quilts and afghans - especially the ones made by my Grandmother and my Mother.. washing dishes by hand - there is something about hot soapy water and the satisfaction of doing something like that yourself.. looking at stars on a warm summer night.. sailing.. Laying on the couch on a sultry afternoon, the sun at just the right angle, watching dust motes drift through the air.. power tools - Makita, DeWalt, Craftsman.. a well built kitchen.. Babies.. Flannel sheets in the winter time..

Books:

Instead of individual books, I am just going to list favourite authors. Otherwise the list would just be too damnned long! - Asimov, Bear, Brooks, Burroughs, Colfer, de Bernieres, Diamond, DiCamillo, Dunant, Dunning, Ford, Gaiman (who is the finest thing on the entire planet!) Gibson, Gorey, Hawking, Heinlein, Herbert, Homer (yeah, the ancient Greek guy) McCaffrey, McCullough, Martin, Matsumoto, Nabokov, Nivens & Pournelle (but only when they write together), Potok, Rowling, Shakespeare, Sharra, Tolkien, Wrede, and Young (this would be Joshua Young, a brand new author whom I think has a great talent and future. You can get his books 'There' and 'Have You Heard Of Wes Anderson' by contacting linesandblood ). These are just most of the favourites...I read a lot of others too, but who cares about those ultra mass produced pocket book novels like Clancy or Grisham? or all those romances I have consumed? they're fun, but not favourites. I also read a lot of poetry, but that's a different list.As some of you know, I am a collector of signed, modern first edition books. This is my favourite search engine for those hard to find volumes! Author: Title: Keyword:~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Heroes:

My son, Robert. My daughter, Lisa. Freakin' outstanding people!
