I have a lot of interests. But in brief, I like going out on the weekends with my mates. I also enjoy going to concerts. And when I have some quite time to myself I like watching movies and writing.
I like meeting people who are interesting, open minded and who have a warm personality.
There are so many great musicians out there, but I'll just narrow my selection down to a few favourites. They are: The Triffids, The Kinks, The Dirty Three, Neil Young, The Saints, Bob Dylan, David Bowie, The Clash, The White Stripes, Simon and Garfunkel, Tom Waits, The Go-Betweens, Midnight Oil, The Shins, Leonard Cohen, Pixies, John Lennon, R.E.M, The Stooges and Nick Cave.
I like a lot of films, old and new. A few that come to mind at the moment are: Apocalypse Now, Rebel Without A Cause, Blade Runner, Edward Scissorhands, Fargo, Platoon, Bonnie and Clyde, Cool Hand Luke, Sin City, Memento, The Proposition, Unforgiven, The Outlaw Josey Wales, Aliens, Open Water, Paths of Glory, Raging Bull, Ran, The Good, The Bad and the Ugly, For A Few Dollars More, Dirty Hary, Mystic River and The Shining.
I don't watch a lot of television. Other than the news I occasionally watch The Simpsons for a laugh.
Some of my favourite books are: Ham on Rye - Charles Bukowski. Island - Aldous Huxley. In Cold Blood - Truman Capote. Down and Out In Paris and London - George Orwell. The Naked and the Dead - Norman Mailer. Elephant - Raymond Carver. Beyond Good and Evil - Friedrich Nietzsche. The Old Man and the Sea - Ernest Hemingway. The Plague - Albert Camus. Minimum of Two - Tim Winton. Big Sur - Jack Kerouac. Selected Short Stories - Henry Lawson. The Hobbit - Tolkien. Word Virus - William S. Burroughs. Chronicles Volume 1 - Bob Dylan. Shakey (Neil Young's Biography) - Jimmy McDonough, and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas - Hunter S Thompson.
My heroes are people like the musicians and writers above. They have provided me with a lot of inspiration.
