Blue Collar Bohemian Lives life of Blood, Sweat & Murder

About Me

I need almost constant mental stimulation. I read voraciously, argue for sport (with civility!), and immerse myself in an ocean of art, cinema and music. My tastes run the gamut from the populist to the highbrow: Bukowski to Shakespeare, Miles Davis to Social Distortion, Truffaut to Argento. I am a born storyteller. In the mood for a rollicking tale of (90% true) adventure? Just ask me how I got my FBI file, or what it is like to go shooting with a Columbian drug lord, or why I have a phobia about bull elk, or how it looks inside a Maltese jail, or if that skinhead really deserved to have his nose bitten off. Despite (or maybe because of) all that, the majority of my time is spent in quiet contemplation. I'm allergic to competitive sports, but I try to maintain a reasonable level of fitness. I enjoy hiking, camping and a variety of outdoor activities.I recently abandoned the ivory towers of academia to concentrate on my writing dreams. As money from my freelance writing escapades is sporadic at best, I manage a warehouse to pay the bills. Occasionally, I've been known to do some unlicensed private eye work for some of my lawyer friends. (That gig is nowhere near as interesting as it sounds). Additionally, I volunteer at a nonprofit cinema dedicated to bringing foreign and independent films out to the sticks.

You Are A Martini
You are the kind of drinker who appreciates a nice hard drink.
And for you, only quality alcohol. You don't waste your time on the cheap stuff.
Obviously, you're usually found with a martini in your hand. But sometimes you mix it up with a gin and tonic.
And you'd never, ever consider one of those flavored martinis. They're hardly a drink! What Alcoholic Drink Are You?...
