About Me

Tanya Valentin, Tanya Valentin, daughter of a Puerto Rican mother and German father, was born in Miltenberg, Germany.
After she finished her studies as a classical Soprano at the Mannes College of Music in New York she continuously reinvented and challenged her surroundings. Collaborating with New York's underground scene her first performances were at Nublu (home-base of The Brazilian Girls) or the infamous Lotus Club. The Rock n roll concert space Snitch her first official performance was documented by the New York Post page Six....the legendary bands Korn, Fuel and Velvet Revolver ....were astonished by the intoxicating performance of Tanya Valentin, also known as Desia.
Together with DJ mark Feggins they created the “Fashion Concerto”. A futuristic opera fairy music tale . This adventure was presented live at the Funkshion Miami and the Fashion Channel BET.
Tanya recorded the latest NIVEA commercial clip and BUDDA BAR single 2008. In November 2007 she introduced Klassik Unplugged, at the State Castle "Residenz Munich" and in Frankfurt, Viena, Castle Belvedere, Kunsthalle, Open Air Classical Festival, etc... The first of is kind innovative “Receitel”. DJ Jondal from Classic Radio, Germany, introduced the evening with Lounge and Chill out Classic. Traditional Lieder and Arias from Mozart, Schubert, Strauss were being performed by Tanya Valentin accompanied by renowned instrumentalists. Modern compositions of genres as New Age, pop, House expressed with her distinctive voice and passion. Her soft and crystal clear Soprano, with it’s distinctive “timbre”, she conquered the hearts of her audience.
In 2008 she became the resident Artist of Mansion the 10.000 square feet ultra lounge No.1 entertainment palace of New York. Created by the Club Kings Mark Baker and Eric Milon (The Opium Group). The 2008 New York Fashion week Opening Party of Zac Posen and Jeremy Scott.
A decisive role in the performance is her extraordinary dramatic presence. She captures the tragedy and passion of Arias and finds the thin line of mixing it with Music from soundtracks like the Matrix and Gladiator. She creates a new outlook to Opera and escapes reality within moments, transferring you into a fantasy world where you are being a part of.
She has been featured in international media including Elements Magazine, Munich Abendblatt, Bildzeitung, Sueddeutsche Zeitung, Glamour Magazine, Oyster Magazine, Bon Magazine, GADA Magazine, Hint, Arte-TV France, Bertelsmann, PRO7 TV, New York Metro Channel, MTV New York, Fellissimo Museum NY, Diesel, . New York Post Page Six
“She was able to bridge the gulf between the disparate Groups in society. Rock Icons like DUFF McKagan and Matt Sorin of Velevet Revolver, Brett Scallions from Fuel, along with Korn watched her intoxicating Opera Performance at Snitch, New York. “
Review "Tribecca Filmfestival" by Adhara Morales, Concierge, New York Palace Hotel
Special performance by Tanya Valentin, a German diva who approached the stage in the middle of the room wearing a large renaissance wig with blond ringlets framing her face and two painted black moons with stars that clung to her cheekbones. Her make up was fierce but her performance was even more captivating. Against the background of electronic music her voice gave way to an enchanting operatic number that left everyone in the room speechless. Her dramatic poses and unforgettable singing were quite a sight, enhanced by a burlesque, black lace wardrobe.
TJ.Sabo, Editor of GADA magazine:

Tanya uses her passion for music and sensitivity for visual arts to render ...pieces that are poetic...layers that caress your body and more your spirit.”
Bon Magazine:
“... renaissance romance meets avant-garde future of music..”
