B ENJAMIN D ONSKY is a singer, songwriter, composer, and multi-instrumentalist living in New York City.
He began playing coffeehouses in San Francisco at age 15 (in 1996) and has since performed countless times at bars and festivals in San Francisco, Providence, central New Jersey, and New York City.
He's been acclaimed as "a new breed of songwriter" who combines the American roots tradition with modern influences and dark, satirical overtones. or, more simply, someone "who thinks folk music should be funny."
He released one EP, Positive Messages, in 2002, and a full-length, self-titled CD as the lead singer of the Village Voice-acclaimed hard rock band Big Dictator in 2006. scheduled for 2007 are his first full-length studio album, Rock and Roll Jew and Donsky Live, compiled from performances in Providence, Rhode Island and New Brunswick, New Jersey.
Donsky currently performs as a solo artist with various supporting musicians, based in New York City.
