************************************************************ *********** The CreamSicles From Burning Man, to The New York City Marathon, to the National Theater of Japan, The CreamSicles have toured and performed extensively. Made up of John Sully (songwriter/guitar/vocals), Craig Gottlieb (bass), and Marcello Pantano (drums), The CreamSicles not only make great Rock music, but bring a level of polish, showmanship, and full on PARTY style to their performances that is in short supply on the indie circuit currently.
Formed in 2005, the band has been performing steadily from the beginning. Recent gigs in the New York area include Mercury Lounge, B.B. King’s, The Stephen Talkhouse, Fat Baby, Fontana’s, Crash Mansion, and The Knitting Factory. They have also become popular on the Festival circuit, and have performed for The Guinness Festival, The Sarasota Arts Festival in Florida, and City Meals on Wheels Media Battle of the Bands, to name a few. Their audience has grown exponentially since the release of their debut album, “The Perfect Girl” in late 2006.
Recent Highlights and Airplay: -Tracks from "The Perfect Girl” featured on NYC’s 1 Classic Rock Station Q104.3 on “Out of the Box”.
-Tracks from “The Perfect Girl” featured on Long Island’s 1 Rock Station WBAB on “The Homegrown Show”.
-The CreamSicles featured in New York's most circulated daily newspaper, AM New York.
-The CreamSicles nominated for Band of the Month by the Deli Magazine and chosen as a "Hand-Picked NYC Band" three times with their single "Livin' 4 the Nite".
Recent Reviews: The Deli Magazine: Filling their sound with pop flourishes and soaring vocals, The CreamSicles could have easily replaced HINDER in that VH1 commercial for the next ambassadors of straight-no-chaser rock n’ roll. (January 2007)
Hamptons.com: Just file the release, "The Perfect Girl," under R-O-C-K and leave it at that. From the first guitar riff the band promises to deliver it hard and heavy from the gut. Inside, the song influences are as diverse as 1980s heavy metal, operatic vocals of Queen and the modulations of Steve Miller Band's guitars. (March 2007)
East Hampton Star: Classic rock meets gypsy punk. (March 2007)
AM NY: The local band rocks out with heavy guitars and soaring harmonies. (August 2006)
The CreamSicles debut albumThe Perfect Girl was released in September 2006. Recorded at Monster Island Studios in New York City, and engineered by Mike Caffrey (George Clinton, Chaka Khan, Soul Live, Omar Hakim, Hiram Bullock, 5 Grammy nominations).
The CreamSicles 2nd album, Rock on Rock was recorded by Sully at Moody Mammoth Studios in DUMBO and mixed with Brian Taylor. Check out the player above to hear previews of the tracks. The album will be officially released in early 2008.
