Fourthwall news!
“See it in my mind I know the way…”
A low ceiling basement of a white bungalow in a quiet neighbourhood one day became a musical refuge. It was, and still is, the plateau in which four guys meet to achieve their musical dreams. Long before their union in this musical haven, Mike Farrell, Mark ‘Slick’ Scarmato, Dan Gallo and Adam Burns individually embarked on a musical journey, each faced with a number of possible paths. Time passed, and there were fewer and fewer viable paths to take. One path, however, became clear and seemed to point in the direction of the white bungalow. Once there, Mike, Slick, Dan and Adam formed a Rock & Roll band that creates great music together by combining each individual’s personality, musical ability, determination and the experience each gained on their journey.
“Hey we’re moving on, as time keeps carrying on…”
Fourthwall is the Rock & Roll band whose music now seeps out of the basement windows of that white bungalow. Now, band members Mike, Slick, Dan and Adam are on the same path, a path they can only travel together. In 2003, Fourthwall started making music together by playing covers as well as starting to create their own signature tunes. Their first public gig as a band was a competition in their native town of Richmond Hill. The bold move landed them 1st place in the competition. In the months to follow, the band gigged regularly at well-established venues in the Toronto area, catching the eyes and ears of a booking company and new fans along the way.
“Baby get your bags, we’re hitting the road…”
Fourthwall has the “play as much as possible, anytime, anywhere” attitude and their reliable fan base continues to be there every step of the way. Their live three part vocal harmonies is what sets them apart from a lot of bands they have seen, played with, and competed against. Fourthwall placed 3rd out of approximately forty bands in Canada’s largest prized battle of the bands, the Paragon 5k. The band was now appearing in newspapers as well as making both radio and television appearances. Fourthwall quickly accomplished their primary goals, having only one aspiration left to achieve, perhaps their greatest and most anticipated achievement to date.
“I’ll bring it to you…”
In the summer of 2006, Fourthwall entered D.C. Music Studio to professionally record Mike Farrell’s lead vocals and guitar, Slick’s vocals and guitar, Dan Gallo’s vocals and bass guitar and Adam Burns’ drums professionally, for the first time. The four song demo CD is available for purchase at all Fourthwall shows and online at www.fourthwall.ca. The album has recieved rave reviews so far, and the band is looking to build on thier current momentum, and continue to show Canada what rock n’ roll is all about.
