K-J here, this is my story in a nutshell: I'm essentially a one man band in terms of my music, and its a simple enough ensemble. I play acoustic and electric guitar, do vocals of course, and also write original material. I started songwriting about 4 years ago and in the summer of 06, I decided to go out and purchase some recording equipment to put together a CD, just for fun really. The result was an album entitled "Casting My Heart's Shadow", which was completed in August of 2006. I distributed roughly 40 to 50 copies across my campus at Nipissing University in North Bay and to my great surprise, it got some good reviews. The album ended up spreading around to some degree and the feedback I received was quite positive. One song in particular became by far my most popular and to some degree became a minor campus hit, the song was "Angel Eyes" and to this day, anytime I perform around campus this song is always requested repeatedly. For something thats really just a hobby of mine, its given me great delight to see that others can find enjoyment in my music as well. Is what I do rather amateur? No doubt lol. But as time moves on, my craft improves, and hopefully that will be evident in future albums. My music overall is rather sentimental especally in lyrics, riding along a foundation of classic rock and folk rhythms, reminiscient sometimes of James Taylor or my personal hero, Tom Petty. Sometimes the mood is light, sometimes its rather dark, and at times it may even be romantic. Overall I like to pursue different lyrical and musical approaches and expand my own artistic horizons, and will continue to do so over time. Nowadays I've recently finished recording my second CD, entitled "Bartering Away my Tomorrows" and it is my strong belief that this album reflects improvement on my past work and also hints at even better music to come. Overall, its a versatile record that I'm very proud of and excited about!Masthead Banner Made with MyBannerMaker.com! Click here to make your own!
