Rhythm and Blue singer Darryl Riley hails from Toronto, Canada. Since an early age, the 23 year old Riley had his ambitions aimed at honing his skills as a singer, rapper, songwriter, and producer to bring his dreams of a career in the music industry to fruition.
This soulful crooner has been performing since the age of 6, entering competitions that showcase his talents and winning awards. Darryl Studied music at the renowned Cardinal Carter School of Arts, and by the age of 15, he was already producing his own music. Darryls speciality is street soul. His sultry lyrics speak of falling in love and this is exemplified in his musical style.
His music demonstrates the kaleidoscope of battles and triumphs that like and love can bring. His album has a track for whatever ails you.
Darryl has performed regularly at many top Toronto nightspots such as The Bamboo, The Government, and Atlantis. Performing with major international R&B recording artists such as Eric Benet, Joe, 112, and Usher has only further inspired him to maintain his work ethic and succeed at meeting his own standard of excellence.
Acknowledged for a UMAC award for Best R&B artist, his single FREEDOM has opened doors.
In 2001, Darryl released Movin On to rave reviews and heavy airplay on the radio stations on both sides of the border. Movin On is a seamless hybrid of both hip-hop and R&B, showcasing Darryls skills as both a singer and rapper.
His recent 2005, singles Groove produced by Solitair and HOT produced by Sound Smith, continues to receive overwhelming air play response across Canadas urban radio stations.
His drive and passion for success, has given Riley the opportunity to work along side the BLACK JAYS Founded by Kardinal Offishall and Solitair.
From his continued success Darryl foreshadows his third single TONIGHT will attest his growth.
Holding in high regard such influential musical legends such as Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye, Luther Vandross, James Brown, and Boys II men, Darryl Riley hopes his modern day masterpiece-Welcome to the Life of Riley, influences the urban music scene as these artists have before him.
