Getting lost with The Tor Guides!

About Me

Myspace Layouts - Myspace Editor - Image Hosting

Hi, were The Tor Guides, a powerpop combo from Sweden. In late 2006 we released our first CD, Honeybees and Tangerines, which is distributed in the US by Jam Recordings. We´re currently working on both some new and some old music which hopefully will see the light of day in 2008. However, with all these new songs popping up, it seems like forever getting something finished at all...Anyway, assuming you like the songs - get the CD!Pop on! / The Tor Guides

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: myspace.com/torguides
Band Members: Bjorn Hoglund on drums and percussionBosse Lindberg on guitars and accordionTommy Andersson on some bass and guitarsTorbjorn Pettersson on all other guitars and basses, vox and keysMysterious Mr Q putting it all together designwise - plus supplying a subtle name for this powerpop pack!
Influences: Any good music with a hook. One of my first favourites were 10CC, still is. Nick Lowe is of course always a hero. I´m also proud to have bought Television´s Marquee Moon the same day it was released. Wreckless Eric is another favorite - you must check out his web site - as are Jellyfish, both their albums (and the box set) have rotated heavily on my CD. Another favourite is Marshall Crenshaw, all of his albums are great but with the knife to my throat, I´d pick the first two as the best. Rubinoos and Greg Kihn, of course, and Swedish greats, Beagle, are always up there! As are Rich Kids and the Rezillos, both unfairly underrated. You can find out more about our thoughts on this on our blog page. Believe me, there is lots and lots of goods out there. Cheers! / Torbjorn
Sounds Like: We would say there´s nothing new about our music. It´s everything you´ve heard before. Or...you´ll be the judge!
Record Label: We run our own records label, Digit records
Type of Label: Indie
