About Me

Tony Santos has been a veteran of the New York City Music world for over twenty five years. Tony became inspired to play music when in his teens he would go down to CBGB and Great Glidersleeves and check out bands like Willy Deville, David Johanson, The Shirts, Dead Boys, Hot Shot,The Senders and The Tuff Darts. The music was simple and the energy was raw and powerful and this inspired Tony to begin playing bass and writing songs.Tony formed several bands between 1979 and 1988, Touch, The Rabbits and Lonely Joker and played many top clubs like CBGB, The Bitter End, The Stone Pony, The Wave, Tracks, Kennys, Dirt Club,The Right Track Inn.In 1988 Tony took a year off from playing music, but one night he walked into a bar and heard a guitar player by the name of John Campbell playing a steel guitar in open tuning. Tony was blown away by the sound and the power of the Blues. Tony again started to play music and began to listen and study the blues and its history. After several years of hard work he formed The Blues Conspiracy Band and they release two CDs and played many top New York Clubs like Chicago Blues and Mondo Cane and The House of Blues in Boston.Tony has just complete work on his new CD called Solid Ground. This CD fuses Tonys love for the Blues and Rock/R+B. One listen to the title track Solid Ground and you will fully understand this musical journey of love and passion. Some of the great musicans on Solid Ground are Vito Liuzzi (Johnny Winter Band) Andru Cann (Peter Framton) Jeff Salen (Tuff Darts) plus Benita Charles, Eric Mauriello,Don Facompre, Al Capara, Phil Bloom. You can buy Solid Ground at WWW.CDBABY.COM or WWW.DIGSTATION.COMIn the past several months Tony has formed a New Blues Conspiracy Band.
