This kills me with laughter! I especially love the clapping!..
I'm drawn to people with talent so if you are an artist, designer, photographer, film maker, web designer, musician, computer animator, carpenter, luthier, sand castle builder, teacher, day dreamer we would probably get along very well. I also like people who have a slightly twisted sense of humour when it comes to television, movies, books or music. People with mean streaks need not apply. If you are a genuinely nice human being and appreciate good things it would be nice to meet you.

This is a short list. I like a lot of stuff and probably hate just as much. Being a musician does make you jaded but there are certain qualities that must be met for me to like a band or even a song. Like the movies I like, they don't have to embody all the qualities I look for in them... they can lack some qualities and make up for it in other areas. Ask me about the qualities that I seek... now without further adieu... some of my favorite bands.Sonic Youth, Guided By Voices, The Police, My Bloody Valentine, Lush, Cheap Trick, Mike Watt, Firehose, Minutemen, Radiohead, The Clash, The Beatles, The Flaming Lips, The Young Gods, Squeeze, Split Enz, The B-52's, Yo La Tengo, Bjork, Cocteau Twins, Experimental Aircraft, Broadcast, Broken Social Scene, Cyrus Rego, The Octopus Project Yes, King Crimson, Xcella, ZZ Topp, Sweet Daddy, Iron Maiden, Todd Rundgren, Blonde Redhead, The Pixies, Talk Talk (these guys were radiohead long before radiohead was radiohead), Duran Duran, Jimi Hendrix, Canned Heat, Black Sabbath, The Moody Blues, Badfinger, Blue Cheer, Van Halen (Roth era), Rush, Magazine, Neu, Can, Roxy Music, The Kinks, Frank Zappa, Missing Persons, Devo, Soundgarden, Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Chemical Brothers, The Dandy Warhols, Aphex Twin, Brian Eno, Robert Fripp, Roxy Music, The Smiths, Curve, Yes, Genesis (Peter Gabriel era), The Who, The Rolling Stones, The Doors, The Cure, Supertramp, Butthole Surfers, All, Descendants, REM (Green and before), Neil Young, Beastie Boys, Gary Numan, Dead Can Dance, Elvis Costello and the Attractions, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, ACDC, Macha, Trans Am, The Secret Machines, Magnet School, The Shells, The Shins, Seefeel, Outkast, Medicine, Matthew Sweet, Mogwai, WEEN, Ladytron, Interpol, Kraftwerk, The Future Sound of London, Kate Bush, The Go-Go's, David Bowie, Fleetwood Mac, Joe Walsh, Dead Kennedys, X, New Order, Joy Division, The Psychedelic Furs, A lot of stuff from the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's ( this should cover all the one hit wonder stuff and things I may have missed). I also enjoy classical and jazz, some artists are, Charles Mingus, Chopin, Bach, Mozart, Charlie Parker, Dave Brubeck, Benny Goodman, Miles Davis, Beethoven, Ravel, Vivaldi... but rock is my lifeblood. This in no way represents how much I know about the artists records or history... It is only a reflection of bands I have consistently gravitated towards throughout my life.
I absolutely love movies that draw from the imagination or have good stories or good cinematography and good editing... They don't all have to combine those assets so there is a good "cheese" factor I can appreciate too! So here we go. First and foremost: Star Wars: A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back (those movies have a special place), The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Blade Runner, Raising Arizona, The City of Lost Children, Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark, King Kong, The Matrix, THX 1138, Dr. Strangelove (or how I stopped worrying and learned to love the bomb), Man Bites Dog, Punch Drunk Love, Lost in Translation, Rushmore, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (Gondry is a master!), Tommy, Animal House, 1941, Brazil, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, James Bond: Thunderball, The Fifth Element, The Life Aquatic, Rushmore, Sin City, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Dazed and Confused, Jurrasic Park, Dead Alive, Bad Taste, A Clockwork Orange, The Shining, The Exorcist, The Hidden Fortress, Shogun Assasin, currently I want to get more into gory, bloody Samurai movies, and 50's Sci Fi. Think I might get Netflix when I move to the new place. I can safely say that the directors I most consistently enjoy are the Coen Brothers, and Stanley Kubrick, Wes Anderson... George Lucas would be up there too but I saw Howard the Duck recently and cringed and I give a B- to the latest trilogy and I'm being really forgiving.
I watch TV through DVD's. Like Arrested Development (RIP) Firefly (RIP) Freaks and Geeks (RIP) Spaced (RIP)
Currently reading Being There by Jerzy Kosinski. Tried to get through Goedel, Escher Bach. I have read A Clockwork Orange, The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, lot of Stephen King when I was in high school. Tim Robbins and way too many technical manuals. I also enjoy The National Audobon series of naturalist books- like insects, astronomy. I like coloring books. I like a variety of Vonnegut books, some fiction, some Sci Fi, Phillip K. Dick is good stuff. But honestly I don't get too much time to read as technical manuals are rather dull and I'm about to get busy rocking and rolling once again. I like big picture books of anthropology, architecture, astronomy, maps, collections of poster art and art deco, marine life.
