My name is Kari "Carda" Helenius. Born in 1968 in Helsinki, Finland. I took up active photography when I was
20 years old. Over the past 15 years photography has been my passion, the last five of which have been spent as a
professional rock music photographer specializing in live captures.
My work has been exhibited in a wide range of medias from music magazines to band webpages to newspapers and beyond. My
photographic journeys have taken me to exotic locations such as Thailand, Malaysia, Australia, China, Palau and all over The United States Of America.
My tenure among rock music..s elite has seen me at some of the most important rock festivals in Europe such as Wacken Open Air,
Sweden Rock Festival, Tuska Festival, Firefest, Bang Your Head Festival, and a host of others. At these events I..ve been priviledged
to photograph some of the greatest names in the rock music industry. Artists like Whitesnake, Twisted Sister, Iron Maiden, Savatage, Mötley Crue, Dream Theater, Nightwish and Stratovarius have all graced my lens on various occasions.
I am constantly on the lookout for new challenges such as sporting events and posed studio work to widen my scope and skills.
