About Me

shabaka likes music and cherry cake. but maybe music a bit more. he grew up in barbados. he did the undergraduate classical course at guildhall school of music on clarinet. he now plays a lot of jazz though, in his own trio z-u and the mighty jeddo. he is a member of courtney pines jazz warriors project and performs on his recent album 'afropeans'. he has performed with polar bear, the heliocentrics, the heritage orchestra, anthony joseph and the spasm band, gary crosby's nu-troop, tomorrow's warriors, kinzli, a poem in between people, ayetoro, chic budo and soweto kinch. that is all he can remember....oh dear!!!
