Mums everywhere, including my good friends Mrs Dr Gretel Parker, who finished her PhD just in time to give birth to a beautiful daughter, and Mrs soon to be Dr Carolyn Munce, a mum of 5 who went back to school to get first class honours, a scholarship and a fine bunch of colleagues. Our supervisor and research group leader Professor Greg Hope and his wife the wonderful Betty who have looked after the lot of us like family, and I do mean a normal dysfunctional family. Professor Ronald and the lovely Elpeth Woods who know how to make every day a picnic at Wood's Cafe. Dr Matthew Jeffrey, seen here as the professor in our research group photo when we got lost on the way to the conference in Hawaii. Some of us made it at least, the rest got to drinking that fermenting coconut juice. My greatest heroes are people who serve and care for others. I also admire women who don't have kids if they don't want to and blokes who do the mum thing. My wonderful son Adrick, who is a damned fine musician and works very hard at his pickin'. Here he is, pictured in support for Kinky Friedman's campaign for Governor of TexasMy heart and eternal respect goes out to Doc Watson. He has taught me more about life than he ever intended. http://www.docsguitar.comDock Boggs - won't win a Nobel peace prize but teaches a lot about stickin' to your guns. http://www.longtimecoming.com/ and Earl Scruggs whom I believe once said "I did it my way, now you do it yours".
