About Me

Spanking Bananas. This is my cartoon blog. It's mostly one-panel cartoons done with a digital tablet and Corel Painter X software.
The Cult of Personality Blog. I've started a real blog called Easily Discouraged Man. It's a mishmash of things that I'm into, such as cartooning, writing, eating. You know. Stuff. I think it's quirky enough to be interesting.
The Shop. My wife and I started a t-shirt shop on cafepress.com (which you can do, too, if you want). We call it The Rough Suspect T-shirt Shoppe . Why the name rough suspect? We were brainstorming and started playing around with euphemisms. One of our favorites is "roughing up the suspect" (we can be as juvenile as the next person) and so we shortened it to Rough Suspect. That simple. I think it took us all of 15 minutes to come up with a name we both liked. And luckily, still like.
The Other Other Blog. Venus in Combat Boots is my wife's fantastic blog. It's primarily geared towards women, but I think everyone will find something of interest in her writings. Plus, my wife creates these really intriguing and cool picture collages that are provocative and, hey, just fun to look at.

Please place your item in the bag

My wife and I were checking out of King Soopers at the self-serve scanners the other day. We ran into the ubiquitous problem of the computer telling us to "please place your item in the bag" and then ...

GEEK ALERT!! 1/18 Scale 1966 Batmobile

First of all, as you can tell from my page, I'm not a geek. I'm really not sure how all those comic book graphics got on there. However, even for someone as non-geeky as myself, I couldn't let this go...

V for Pretty Good ... uh ... hmmm

Just saw V for Vendetta. Thankfully in HD. Yes, I'm very late to the party. Never read the comic. However, the movie I found quite good. I really felt for these characters, including V. Natalie Portma...

The Perfect Hot Chocolate

Pre-heating requirements: 1 Mug (should hold just over 2.5 cups of liquid) 2 to 3 ounces of your favorite semi-sweet chocolate chips (I use Guittard, which you can find at Safeway in the Denver area)....

Damn Sasquatch

Huh. So our current bestseller is our Damn Sasquatch design (both male and female pictures). Neither my wife nor I understand why. There must be some large sasquatch community out there buying them up...

Comix!!

I'm addicted to comics ... again. I collected when I was a kid (somewhere between 300 and 500 comics, I can't remember, but I still have them all in boxes rotting away in a closet somewhere). Except "...

Simon Pegg: She canna handle any more, Capn!

Okay, I'm a Simon Pegg fan (Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz). But Scotty? Not sure how that'll work. And John Cho as Sulu? I didn't know Sulu went in for the herb (then again, some of the psychedelic e...

Doc and The Shadow

Okay, can't imagine too many are going to care about this, but I stumbled across a company that is reprinting Doc Savage and The Shadow in their original magazine format ... kinda. It's pretty cool....

Diver Dan, personal saviour

Huh. I guess you can find anything on YouTube. I was reading an interview with Kevin Murphy (Tom Servo/Bobo on MST3K) and he was talking about some video he found about a show from his childhood. For ...
