I'm a keyboard botherer - piano keys, or laptop keys, i'm happy with either.
Music moves me like nothing else. Well, OK, there is something else that does too but let's face it, I'm single.
I'm also a gazer into infinite space, but just as likely to have my attention caught by the colour of feather sweeping past my window.
I'm an INFP on the Myers-Briggs personality chart (Healer-Idealist.) Try it yourself!

For someone who loves music so much, i've often wondered why it is that i sometimes need silence just as much. I'm almost embarrased by it. I used to spend several hours a day, over many years of my life, practising the piano, sometimes the 'cello (my poor parents. And neighbours.). Four days a week i'd play all kinds of music for a ballet and dance school. On a Saturday afternoon i would go down to my local second hand bookshop, and in the back room musicians - from concert pianists to clarinetists with decades of travel and music behind them to amateurs like me - would come and go, joining in with the trad jazz being rehearsed and played with while people browsed the books in the front room and occasionally found themselves drawn in to watch and tap their feet along. If persuaded to leave the piano, i'd give the vibraphone a go. Then years later came the band. I've taught music to groups of parents and their small children, i've taught piano for many years. My life has always been joyfully saturated with music. So how can i explain that sometimes silence is just necessary? I read a lovely sentence from Vikram Seth that i'll quote here, that explains it beautifully - that tries to say that music is all that is needed, "...but not too much - for the soul could not sustain it" (V.Seth). And this is exactly it. For my soul takes flight in a million molecules and drifts far around and above the world through music, roots down into the earth, flies through aeons; music brings up long buried emotions, unfurls the beat to my fingertips and shoots arrows of love into my heart... and just sometimes, you need silence at the centre of your soul, you need to re-tune yourself, before you can join in again with the band and the carnival procession.
Dinner on me (well, not, ON me, exactly) for anyone who correctly guesses my favourite piece of music on the player below ;) Or at the very least, a custard slice in the post.
Peace X

Kindness
Before you know what kindness really is
you must lose things,
feel the future dissolve in a moment
like salt in a weakened broth.
What you held in your hand,
what you counted and carefully saved,
all this must go so you know
how desolate the landscape can be
between the regions of kindness.
How you ride and ride
thinking the bus will never stop,
the passengers eating maize and chicken
will stare out the window forever.
Before you learn the tender gravity of kindness,
You must travel where the Indian in a white poncho
lies dead by the side of the road.
You must see how this could be you,
how he too was someone
who journeyed through the night with plans
and the simple breath that kept him alive.
Before you know kindness as the deepest thing inside
you must know sorrow as the other deepest thing.
You must wake up with sorrow
You must speak to it til your voice
catches the thread of all sorrows
and you see the size of the cloth.
Then it is only kindness that makes sense any more,
only kindness that ties your shoes
and sends you out into the day to mail letters and purchase bread,
only kindness that raises its head
from the crowd of the world to say
It is I you have been looking for,
and then goes with you everywhere
like a shadow or a friend

You are The Moon
Hope, expectation, Bright promises.
The Moon is a card of magic and mystery - when prominent you know that nothing is as it seems, particularly when it concerns relationships. All logic is thrown out the window.
The Moon is all about visions and illusions, madness, genius and poetry. This is a card that has to do with sleep, and so with both dreams and nightmares. It is a scary card in that it warns that there might be hidden enemies, tricks and falsehoods. But it should also be remembered that this is a card of great creativity, of powerful magic, primal feelings and intuition. You may be going through a time of emotional and mental trial; if you have any past mental problems, you must be vigilant in taking your medication but avoid drugs or alcohol, as abuse of either will cause them irreparable damage. This time however, can also result in great creativity, psychic powers, visions and insight. You can and should trust your intuition.

What female superhero are you???
Catwoman
You are the anti-hero. Now quite a hero but prone to heroic actions and a protector of abused women. Dark, sleek and full of feminine wiles, you steal your way into people's hearts. Meow!

Sincere thanks to a friend, for a recent reminder of this poem ~
'Usk' by T.S Eliot
Do not suddenly break the branch, or
Hope to find
The white hart behind the white well.
Glance aside, not for lance, do not spell
Old enchantments. Let them sleep.
'Gently dip, but not too deep.'
Lift your eyes
Where the roads dip and the roads rise
Seek only there
Where the grey light meets the green air
The hermit's chapel, the pilgrim's prayer.
My horse, Xita, blinking in the sunshine.

White Darkness by Virginia Hamilton Adair
Whether this is time or snow, passing
Through the night, earthward,
Who can tell—
Each particle only an illusion; yet massing,
Mounting over all,
Hushing the footfall,
Silencing the bell.
“I am confused,â€
Said the traveler, “hearing no sound
Though my feet touch the ground
As they are used.â€
Soft as a shadow on fur
The filling places
Where his footsteps were;
Lost without shape or grime
His path through the level spaces.
How can we certainly know
If this is time
Falling, or snow?
