I'll kick yer ass on the pool table while enjoying a few beers and not brag or gloat about it. Music is a constant in my life(see below). I actually like my job and the people I work with. I'm two hours north of Boston and I go there every chance I get. I live in Central New Hampshire just minutes away from lakes and mountains. I carry a small spiral notebook with me almost everywhere just in case inspiration strikes. I wouldn't want to miss out on a phrase or sentence that might spur me on to write THE MEDIOCRE AMERICAN NOVEL.
I enjoy hanging out with people who aren't full of themselves, who don't take themselves TOO seriously---yet seriously enough as to not shirk their responsibilities. Human beings who can dish it out AND take it are pretty cool in my pamphlet. Self importance is not a good quality. Anyone suffering from this affliction is only important to oneself. I haven't been to a movie theater in well over a dozen years. I don't have to see something when it first comes out; I can wait for the DVD to be released a mere few months after the theatrical release. I like most genres and I will say that The Wizard Of Oz is my all time favorite. It has something for everyone. You gotta love those flying monkeys...It's too bad they are now extinct.
infomercials, infomercials, and more infomercials, really bad talk shows(that means all of 'em), MTV and VH1 when they actually play MUSIC(translation: hardly ever), reality shows having a hint of "reality"(none), cartoons(the Simpsons and the Family Guy for newer; Hanna-Barbera and Warner Brothers for older), the Three Stooges(Joe Besser episodes excluded), ALL programs in at least their 50th run of syndication(lots), the Hitler-um-I mean History Channel, Discovery, unbiased news channels(???)...Televised Red Sox and Patriots games negate all other shows on at the same time.
I read mostly biographies and nonfiction on almost any subject as long as the author holds my interest. It probably wouldn't hurt me to peruse several "self help" books but upon entering a bookstore, I refuse to ask where the section is because that would be defeating the purpose.
My heroes have NEVER been cowboys(and never will be thanks to Brokeback Mountain)or anyone else for that matter. So I guess I'm still holding out for one. Or, perhaps, we don't need another hero. Sheroes, on the other foot, are a completely different ball bearing. My fictional sheroes(in no particular order):
