Dawnn Lewis

Dawnn Lewis is a multitalented and multifaceted individual. Perhaps best known for her roles on the hit TV shows A Different World and Hangin with Mr. Cooper, she is also a Grammy Award-winning singer, a multiple ASCAP & BMI Award-winning song writer, a film actor (Im Gonna Get You Sucka), stage performer (How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying), and TV creator/producer (BLACK JAQ) for ABC. Dawnn recently filmed stirring guest star roles on the new CBS series Medical Investigation as well as the highly acclaimed series NYPD BLUE practically at the same time! Dawnn started her own record label, Morning Jewel Music, and released her first album, a sultry blend of Jazzy R&B entitled Worth Waiting For. Her sensual vocals are featured on the single Its A Shame on the renowned jazz violinist Michael Wards newly released Continuum album. She has also given voice to animated characters for various TV series including Futurama and King of the Hill, and starred in the Disney films Charlotte's Web II & The Poof Point, which also happens to feature the title song from Dawnns CD Worth Waiting For on its soundtrack. Even with her packed schedule, Dawnn finds time to teach Master Classes in the Arts, mentor youth across the country, give motivational lectures and lend her support to: The United Negro College Fund; American Cancer Society; the Inner City Games; Campfire Boys and Girls; The United States Conference on AIDS; and other important causes. She is currently filming the new DreamGirls feature film starring Beyonce Knowles, Jamie Foxx, Eddie Murphy & Danny Glover.
