Dune, Henry V, 300, LotR, Nineteen Eighty-four. Gettysburg. Most things with Will Smith in. I only like violent films where the violence is done heroically.
I do not watch television... much. Apart from Rome. And the Simpsons. And the Fast Show. And Futurama... I do watch a lot of things ON the television mind. It's not like I'm some worthy bourgeoise liberal puritan who loathes mass consumer broadcasting, it's just that I can't get a signal. I do like watching Bravo when I go round to see my friends. Especially the British police videos where some drunken morons get taken off the streets for a while.
Current Book: Lin Carter's 'Thongar the Barbarian' series. 'Atlas Shrugged' & 'Fountainhead' by Ayn Rand. I should have read this 25 years ago, instead of the liberal socialist nonsense which kept me from doing anything for myself. Latest Books Read:'Anthem' by Ayn Rand. 'Atilla: the Scourge of God' by Ross Laidlaw. I reckon this Atilla bloke's a bit of a lefty liberal! 'Monte Cassino' - Sven Hassel. I read the whole series when I was a teenager, now they're re-issuing them Utterly nasty tales of a Nazi penal panzer regiment in WW2; there is some doubt as to their total veracity possibly because they have been fictionalised to create a broader picture of the vile and corrupt nature of Nazism from top to bottom. 'Other People' by Martin Amis - I'm sure I've scanned my reading eyes, eyes reading, over the dancing word-patterns, patterned words before? I forget, do you forget...? 'American Gods' by Neil Gaiman - previously I'd only liked some of his graphic novels and his short prose: American Gods is very good and avoids tweeness. 'Dead Names' by Simon - IA IA KUTULU! An account of the finding, translating and publishing of the dread 'Necronomicon' Interesting, very interesting; especially concerning the 70s New York occult scene and wandering bishops. 'Making Money' by Terry Pratchett - he is turning more into a satiriste du jour than a fantasy parodist. I wonder when he'll get bored? 'Wintersmith' by Terry Pratchett - Crivens! yer big beardie man o' the black hat has saw fit tae weave another tale of the Nac Mac Feegle fer the big wee bairns! Hoots ma boab it's a cald nicht tha nicht! 'Black Mass' by John Grey - a well argued attack on utopianism of all shades. 'Wasting Police Time' by PC David Copperfield - I actually felt sorry for the Aged William! 'White Gold' by Giles Milton - an history of white slavery in North Africa in the 16th/17thC.John Norman, C. S. Lewis, J.R.R Tolkien will always remain in this list.
Myself. Anyone who acts against a wrong done to them, rather than thinking they have inalienable 'human rights' and moaning about it.
