Rome Burns

Dancing circles of protection to nullify the fear

About Me

Originally formed as a vague idea within Simon "Satori" Hendley and Matti "Pixie" Pendleburys minds, Rome Burns is a band that has held on throughout the late 1990s, and despite line up changes, is now starting to see some recognition for their efforts with the release of their second self released album "Non Specific Ghost Stories" which has been well received both in the UK and Europe and reviewed in Sonic Seducer, Kalidescope and Unscene fanzines to name but a few... Their song "Empty Samsara" appears on Strobelights "New Dark Age III" compilation and other songs from the album have also appeared on "club" compilations reflecting the greater "airplay" that they are receiving...

If their demos last year were rawly invigorating and charming, this record takes on a more soothing glow, dazzling you with restraint and the best lyrics the UK Goth scene has actually witnessed since just before The Horatii climbed inside an old sock and rotted away to nothing What more could anyone need to know, that if you bypass this youre only letting yourself down? It is a work of magnificent inspiration, and I pity anyone who cant get a copy, for while it would have benefited from some more vigour, its so head and shoulders above the rest I think theyve been designing stilts.
