About Me

Christian de Jonquieres a.k.a. Dejonka was born in Sweden –nowadays settled in Hamburg/Germany. His surname was his inspiration for his artist name and he found his way to electronic music via French House-acts as for instance Daft Punk and Les Rythmes Digitales.
Dejonka’s first release "Drink me" on Hammarskjöld (Now Skjöldmusic) was his starting shot for his incredible amount of output which is underlined by a bunch of releases in around two years - most of them produced in cooperation with his studio colleague Phunklarique (also under the pseudonyms "Piemont", "A.k.a. Derbe" or "Punk Funk Punch"). The quality of their productions is verified by the top-notch labels where their latest remixes and productions can be found: Amongst others Klang Gymnastik, Parquet, PM Music and Knall Traxx. But the significant output for their latest releases has been the own record labels Skjöldmusic, Fingerfoodmusic and - newly founded - Suchtreflex, which they have been managing successfully since late 2005. After a succesful solo release on Parquet in July 2007 Dejonka released the outstanding "Contrail"-EP on PM Musik in cooperation with studio mate Phunklarique autumn 2007.
The current release is the single by Phunklarique & Dejonka entitled "Reflections in Plexiglass" and will be released on Knall Traxx – a member of Bremen's Plantage13-family - in February 2008.
Together with Phunklarique he recently founded the project Piemont. Under Piemont the two Hamburgians create music suitable for peak time as well as after hours and listening comfort. The long awaited debut EP ("Ice Instinct") was released by "Hi Freaks" in January 2007 and gained support from many top jocks, including Thomas Schumacher and Oliver Huntemann. Moreover "Ice Instinct" got featured on the momentous DJ-Mag cover CD. The acclaimed german label "Gedankensport" released their second EP named "Nightshift", including a fabulous remix by Berlins minimal superiors MyMy. Their following single entitled "Carbonat" appeared on the cologne based label My best friend (MBF) in april, and can be considered as their breakthrough. Beeing charted and droped by top class Djs such as Carl Cox, Deep Dish, Oliver Koletzki, Monika Kruse, Umek and King Roc, Carbonat quikly gained great public interest and entered the German Club Charts (DCC) at position 13 in may 2007! Up to now Carbonat has been licensed to two Ministry of Sound compilations. The follow-up-EP named "Sympathetic" meanwhile arrived on MBF in September 2007, which immediately reached position 11 of the DCC. Ever since several EPs followed: "Quantum Leap" (Hi Freaks), "Ignition Spark" (Gedankensport) and - recently - their exceeding "Bastille"-record (MBF). By now the two guys have finished the production of their forth MBF-release named "Black Smoker", which should hit the stores end of June 2008!
Several EP's - including an album production - and a bunch of remixes are in the pipeline for release in 2008.
