The Moonbar Collective hosts the resident nights DROP, Lets Get Minimal, Bump & Funk and Ulterior - the collective home of Brisbane's underground dance music scene. Drop has been tirelessly delivering quality music to the masses for nearly five years now, having hosted events not only in their hometown of Brisbane, but also in Cairns, Townsville and the Gold Coast. Drop events are always focussed on the music – music that is underground yet accessible, deep and dark yet still has the funk and is dancefloor orientated, music that makes you think whilst still so exciting you feel like it's your first night out ever clubbing. Drop has hosted dance music legends such as Danny Howells, Deetron, Michael Mayer, Funk Da Void, Steve Bug, Nathan Fake, Supermayer, Habersham, Rowan Blades, Stephan Bodzin, Dj Misjah, Kriece, Nu-Breed and Phil Smart to name a few. DROP resident dj's Magoo and Scott Walker have played numerous large scale festivals such as Big Day Out, 2 Tribes, Future Music Festival, Earthcore, We Love Sounds, Gatecrasher, Gods Kitchen and Summerfielddayze as well as every major night club in QLD, as well as having toured extensively throughout QLD, NSW, ACT, VIC and SE Asia.

"Lets Get Minimal" started as a group of like minded DJ / Friends from across the country and overseas who eventually converged and decided to form in Brisbane, after some very succesful parties it was obvious that a bigger space was needed to allow for the ever growing following. The "Lets get Minimal" Boys moto was always to put on great parties and expose as many people to "up to the minute" trends in current underground beats as possible! whilst maintaining a quality friendly crew.All members have a unique interpertation and style and have a great understanding and passion for dance music. To here some of the best examples in sweetass sounds simply come along to our next gig and see what all the fuss is about.
Bump N FUNK! - Dave Worth (aka Worth Dj)
One of the newest nights on the block, Bump’n’Funk has stepped in to fill a yawning gap in Empire’s Friday night roster – a need for solid grooves in all things house. No pigeonholing, just eclecticism and imagination is all that’s required for those that step up on the night. In just a few short months Bump’n’Funk’s reputation for quality underground music and innovative and upfront sounds has grown beyond measure.
While a low-key promotion schedule has kept out the riff-raff, word-of-mouth has proved itself once again in attracting a dedicated crowd, eager to check out the myriad of local DJs and electronic artists on offer. Bump’n’Funk’s spectrum of smooth, deep and sexy to rolling, jackin’ and driving beats creates an environment in which its followers eagerly revel.
With the introduction of interstate and international guests, 2008 looks set to be massive for Bump’n’Funk. Promoter and resident Syfi (aka Simon Maher) - who has been carving up dance floors for over half a decade, providing support for the likes of Lee Burridge, Paolo Mojo, Layo & Buskwacka and Boyz Noize - is determined to get you bumping and funking, and to ensure you enjoy the ride. Ulterior showcases the highest quality underground & upfront house & tech sounds from across the world bringing the most respected local, interstate & international DJ’s to the fore with long sets & no rules!Ritual Events and Ulterior are proud to provide a strong tradition of quality, tasteful, and entertaining evenings with an integral part of their mission to expose more of Brisbane's up-coming DJ's and producers to deserving audiences. Since bursting onto the Brisbane scene in 2007 Ulterior has showcased the production and DJ talents of acts such as Chris Fortier, Anthony Pappa, Simon Baker, 4-Strings, Mind Electric and Romel Johan. Expect evenings of diverse underground tech-house, techno and progressive house akin to the most upfront European parties and club nights, where as always [Music] is the [Motive]!
