Toronto Vegetarian Association – Founded in 1945, TVA is the largest and second oldest locally-based vegetarian organization in North America with more than 1,200 members. Supporters receive a charitable tax receipt, a 16-page bi-monthly newsletter, and the option to buy a discount card.

Our Vegetarian Resource Centre
Over 500 titles of books and cookbooks, plus magazines, DVDs and videos available for viewing or loan. There is also a good range of free literature and one of the largest selections of vegetarian books for sale in Toronto over 100 titles.Visit us at: 17 Baldwin St, (North West of Dundas and McCaul,) Wednesdays 6-9 pm and Saturdays from 1-4 pm; other times by appointment.
Veg.ca – Toronto Vegetarian Association's extensive web site offers a wide range of vegetarian information – up-to-date news, inspiring stories, the latest nutrition information, reviews, a weekly podcast, events, and much more. The main page is blog style with new entries posted every couple of days. Other highlights include local and international events, restaurant listings for Southern Ontario, The Annual Vegetarian Food Fair (North America's largest veggie event), The Veggie Challenge, researched articles on issues from global warming to mad cow disease.
Annual Vegetarian Food Fair – North America's largest vegetarian festival with over 15,000 visitors. This popular weekend celebration is held each year in early September at Toronto's Harbourfront Centre. Free food samples, over 100 exhibits, guest speakers, cooking demos, and more. Admission is free. /p
Membership Join Us! Become a member of TVA by making a charitable donation (minimum $20). You will receive our bimonthly newsletter, Lifelines, invitations to events, a chance to purchase our discount card, and an income tax receipt. Your support helps us organize events and campaigns, print literature, provide speakers for schools, reach out to the media, set up tables at health and environmental events, and much more.
Volunteering
Over 10% of our members volunteer their time. From helping out during the Food Fair weekend to staffing the Resource Centre, tabling, or working on publications there is no shortage of interesting jobs.
