About Me

Session singer/songwriter musician from Chicago... consider myself extremely fortunate to have worked with the plethora of fine musicians that I have. I am not here to sell you anything. I love what I do, making music and inspiring my friends and fans.**********************************************If you would like to know more about me, you can read on. This is my official Bio as of late:******************************************************* ******************** Any attempt to compare singer-songwriter Jake Dynnis to other contemporary musicians would not do justice to the artistry of her music. Her rich, soulful voice evokes similarities, but her energy and poetic style is unique, refreshing and without peer.Born and raised in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, IL, Jake has been making music since she could walk, destined to be an entertainer like her late Cousin, The Great Al Jolson. At age four Jake started playing piano, later picking up the violin and accordion. Developing a strong background in classical piano and voice earned her two Opera Scholarships to the University of Kansas. During that time Jake was asked to open for Whitney Houston at a Muscular Dystrophy Benefit in Chicago. Jake begun singing commercials professionally shortly thereafter, and was the babe in Teenage Fanclubs MTV Music Video The Concept. She spent summers on tour with various artists and found herself relocating to Los Angeles to continue her touring aspirations, at which time Jake developed her first band Harms Way. Two years later she recorded her first solo record with musicians such a Matt Walker (Smashing Pumpkins). Jake spent the next summer on tour in Austin, Tx. While playing Austins music scene, including the infamous Steamboat, she debuted live twice on Austins number 1 radio station KLBJs The Debra and Dale show.Shortly thereafter, she was recognized by DreamCatchers Management (Jim Mazza, Kenny Rogers and Ted Greene) who represented Jake for the next couple years. In her spare time, Jake frequents Nashville where she collaborates on songs with a list of well known songwriters for herself and other artists. With influences including The Beatles, The Black Crowes, Bob Dylan, Chrissy Hines and Rufus Wainwright, Jake has brought a new yet familiar sound to the surface. You can check out Jakes band around the LA music scene with players such as Ben Peeler and Rami Jaffe (Wallflowers) and Scott Bennett (Brian Wilson Band). In a fan packed room she will pull you in with her astonishing presence that leads her blues driven, Five piece rock-n-roll band. For more information about upcoming shows or record sales, e-mail Jake here. And Thanks for your ongoing support!
