Charlie Rengel

The past tempts us, the present confuses us, and the future frightens us.

About Me

I've mostly worked in the field of science, since that's what my college diploma indicates. In my off-time, I've studied acting, drama, improv and voice-overs. I hope that I'll have some opportunities to work in those fields as well, especially voice-overs. I can see myself contributing a silly voice for a cartoon series.

My Interests

Acting, improv, and voice-overs. I take a pretty good photograph as well. I also enjoy running and jogging, and a good game of basketball. I like video-games as well, but I try not to overdo it.

I'd like to meet:

I've been finding out that a lot of my friends and people I've met out in the "real world" have Myspace pages. If possible, I'd like to contact all of them so we can continue to keep in touch.
I'd also like to find out about new bands here. I especially enjoy jazz and blues, classic rock & roll, and occasionally new-age music. (No rap or hip-hop - I never got into that.)
(If you're wondering, below is my "Glamourcon" edition of my Top Friends.)

Music:

Mostly jazz and blues. I also enjoy "classic 80s" songs, since I grew up to them. I have been listening to a lot of great talent here as well, including Lynn Carey Saylor. Other artists: Yoko Kanno, Keiko Matsui

Movies:

Raiders of the Lost Ark, Looking for Richard, Dead Poets Society, A Scanner Darkly, Thank You for Smoking, Brick, Swingers, What the BLEEP Do We Know, Waiting for Guffman, For Your Consideration, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Conversations with God, Ninja Scroll, Clerks and Clerks 2, BORAT, Hellboy, Jackass the Movie (yeah, I said it.)

Television:

The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, Late Night w/Conan O'Brien, The Henry Rollins Show, Law and Order(w/Lenny Briscoe),30 Rock, Heroes, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, Dennis Miller Live(HBO), Attack of the Show, Cowboy Bebop, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex

Books:

The Power of Myth by Joseph Campbell, Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger, Stupid Comics by Jim Mahfood

Heroes:

Family and friends - these are people I know I can look up to.

My Blog

I expect polarized comments on this one...

With the Democrats deservedly trouncing the Republicans in last week's election, hopefully they will make some important changes within their first "100 hours" (and maybe making this country respectab...

New video - "Ryan"

This is who I am, folks - deal with it...

To all future "power-users"

There was news recently that Myspace will be divided into two categories: "basic users" (who can still access Myspace for free, but can't "bling out" their pages), and "power-users" (who can get upgra...
