ROCKET TO MEMPHIS

hip shakin' voodoo rock n roll!

About Me

Since the dawn of time, we've been a-twistin’ and grindin' to crazy primal rhythms... that damn fever's still inside us all - and it's itching to get out and cause some mischief!
Fear not, swamp cats and kittens - a cure is at hand.... coiled like a rattlesnake, Rocket to Memphis is here to deliver the voodoo bite that will blast you into orbit! The faint-hearted had better take cover, cos this April, Betty Bombshell and her swampwater-swillin’ cohorts will be swingin’ into your town, like the Reaper’s scythe - to preach the gospel of HIP-SHAKIN’ VOODOO ROCK N ROLL!
Our debut CD - Swampwater Shuffle - features harrowing tales of trigger-happy vixens, cleaver-wielding high-steppers, lost love, and lost body parts... it's a wild mess of voodoo rhythms, twisted jazz and stompin', hell-catchy swamp anthems! Turn the damn thang up, and git them hips a-shakin'!
"..this is a great EP from a refreshingly unique local band. The music is instantly catchy, danceable and accessible – whilst still remaining individual. I can’t wait for an album." Dan Wright (Perthbands.com)

"Rocket to Memphis are the kind of band everyone hopes to be in at some stage... the kind that looks like they’re going 100 miles per hour - even when they’re just setting up their gear. You can’t buy that kind of class... you either have it, or you don’t.” Xpress June 07

"Rocket to Memphis are the swamp masters.” Drum Perth July 07
"Frontwoman Betty Bombshell oozes sex-appeal and charisma" Time Off, QLD Aug 07
