About Me

I'm fun, but don't like to get stung. I think, but also like to drink. I never, never stink (well, maybe occasionally). I'm a West Coast transplant from the Midwest, and have all the baggage that comes with that. I'm creeping towards 40, but don't feel like it. I suppose I may never settle down, but at the same time have always been overly responsible. Mosaics and paper arts (rubber stamping) are my favorite art mediums for now. I toy between extremes of rural and city life, not sure what is next. But either way I'm surviving, having a good time while doing it, and surrounding myself with good tunes, good kitties and one of the best damn mens on the planet. So there.

My Interests

Music, Painting, Mosaics, Dancing, Drinking, Petting Kitties, Exploring, Travelling, Collecting Ridiculous Crap (especially)!!!

I'd like to meet:

I'm mostly here to connect with old friends. Please, if you are from my past and want to say hello, pleae do. Losing touch with people is always a drag, but an inevitability. Also, if I have the time, I might just check out your shitty band!!!Please note I only add people I know in one way or another and/or bands I like as friends. I got plenty of friends, OK?

Music:

Just about everything. Some faves that comes to mind: Falco, Adult., The Briefs, Crime, A Flock Of Seagulls (you best not diss 'em, dammit), Missing Persons, Adverts, The Fall, Delta 5, Kitchen & The Plastic Spoons, Cabaret Voltaire, Gina X Performance, Modeselektor, Roxy Music, The Coup... The list is endless...

Movies:

I tend to go 2 ways with films - silly B movie/campy schlock or interesting foreign films that may move slowly. A few faves include Kontroll, Liquid Sky, the John Waters Collection, Divine Intervention, Elling, Robot Monster, the Ed Wood Collection, the entire Mystery Science Theater 3000 series...

Television:

Father Ted (seriously!), Lost, League of Gentlemen, Cheaters (a work of genius!), Ugly Betty, Survivor, The Simpsons, Soap, The Prisoner...

Books:

Lynda Barry's "Cruddy", anything by Bukowski, Hubert Selby Jr. or Augusten Burroughs, punk rock memoirs, Material World (and other books by Peter Menzel) , the Postsecret books (check out the website). I need to read more - I have about 50 books waiting to be read that I've collected over the past year, and never enough time to get to them...

Heroes:

At this point, anyone who is doing the best thye can with what they got...
