The visual arts and writing of Stuart Land

About Me

At present, I am a sculptor and a writer. I've created in many arts media, all of which may be seen by clicking my Web site www.studioSL.com .

In sculpture, I make very realistic beautiful women figures, but can and do sculpt just about anything.
I write mostly screenplays, but had my novel, Back from the Dead (the true sequel to Frankenstein) , published last year. It's available on Amazon.com by clicking the above link.
My graphic images, digital paintings and photographs, may be seen and purchased through 3rd Planet Design at CafePress , as posters, framed prints and on over ninety different items.
I am also featured on Squidoo , with links to any eBay auctions presently running.Myspace Layouts - Myspace Editor

My Interests

I love all forms of art: painting, sculpture, music, dance, film, and on and on.
I like creating stories and writing them.

I'd like to meet:

Like-minded artists, collectors, gallery owners, film producers, publishers, and anyone interested in the visual arts, writing fiction, and screenplays. Of course, if you're just plain friendly, that would be OK, too. ;)

Music:

I really do like most forms of music. I love the Blues and Essan music from northern Thailand. I like rock, hip-hop, rap, and lots of stuff I don't even know the names of. I don't like elevator music or cheesy love ballads.

Movies:

I worked in the movie Biz for many years, so I really love movies. I love all genres, but shy away from body-count death films. I don't like films that are just all gorey killing. I want to have a good story, too. Although I worked on only American films, I love foreign films. Thailand has a really good up-and-coming film industry and have produced some wonderful films. They are the leader in the comedy-horror genre.
I love Japanese Samurai films, Chinese martial arts films, French erotic films, Australian comedies, and Korean horror films. The list is really endless.

Television:

Well, I don't hate TV like a lot of people. I think you have to be selective in what you watch and how much time you devote to it. I tend to watch movies on cable, but love some of the series out now, like Battle Star Gallactica, Carnivale, Deadwood, Lost, Numbers, Doc Martin, and House. Soemtimes I watch a little of the reality shows just to see what happening, but I don't get caught up in them.

Books:

One Hundred Years of Solitude, Lord of the Rings, Teresa Batista (home from the wars), Tess of the D'Urbervilles, Sirens of Titan, The Fountainhead, Winiw the Pooh, Salem's Lot, Interview with the Vampire, Shakespeare, Poe, The Glass Bead Game... The list is pretty long.

Heroes:

Jacques Cousteau, Amelia Earhart, Nelson Mandella, Carl Sagan, Samwise Gamgee, Einstein, and all those people you see who have had some great tragedy happen to them, yet still push on against the odds. ..
