I was born and raised in Houston, Tx and I spent my high school years in Birmingham, Al. I was very involved in sports in school until the knees surrendered and photography, music and theatre took the reins. My creativity and wild streak combined landed me in film school at the Academy of Art College in San Francisco. A couple of years of scheduled life wore away at me until I decided to pack up the van and go make a documentary about the modern day gypsy artisans associated with the music scene. Several years of this and an accidental marriage at Mardi Gras left me slaving away in the land of Final Cut Pro and singing my heart out at any bar, living room or street corner whenever possible. Manhattan was my next venture. I sang with some very impressive acts and trained with the best in New York but my life was directing me to the southland and I moved back to Birmingham. I spent a lot of time with my family in Alabama and the rest of my time was spent in dirty bars singing the blues. I hung around the south for about a year or so and then my bass player and I decided to head to Park City, Utah. Together Ricky Little and I have created the blues funk experience that is Royal and Toulouse. I am still editing my film (despite a severe data loss) with hopes of making it to Sundance someday. . .
