I am going to be brave and release myself!

About Me

Born to parents who worked together on 'Ready Steady Go' in the swinging sixties. Commune childhood experience. 32 chickens, rabbit the size of a dog. 13 pupils in small Welsh school. Feminist 'Greenham Common' Mother, divorced from Internationally reknowned Fashion photographer Father. Both Parents told me I could do 'anything' and so far I have. Major label signing in the late 80s to the Virgin 10 record label. Made a half a million pound dent in the Virgin coffers on an album that never came out. Shocked by the madness of the experience but still really passionate about my own and other peoples music. Regardless of industry outcome and public perception.Life being what it is, I have worked for well over a decade in music promotion of one sort or another. Working for San Francisco based Six Degrees Records on campaigns for King Britt, Roy Nathason's 'Fire at Keaton's Bar & Grill, Banco De Gaia and various comps in the UK. Also doing promo for independent artist and labels including Melt 2000, Disco Gecko, George V (Buddha Bar), Altura (Ministry of Sound) & Wikkid Records, plus artists like Damien Dempsey, Hothouse Flowers, Sarah Jane Morris, Pathaan, Aiwa, Andy White and I am presently label and media manager for the wonderful Big Chill Recordings.Working on a debut album on my own terms with the mighty A-LPHA-X (see www.A-LPHA-X.com) with guest appearances by some of the musicians I really love. Life is great when you do the things that inspire you. That's where I am at.

Band Members: Producer - Declan Flynn (A-LPHA-X)(Programming, Instrumentation), Trumpets - Guy Barker, Pedal Steel - BJ Cole. Still a work in progress more characters will be added to the list over the coming weeks.
Influences: Otis Redding and all Stax Volt soul singers, Alice Cooper, Christopher Cross, Kate Bush, Steel Ice Band (think you spell it like that "January, February......etc"), Wide Open Cage, Heaven 17, Japan, Bette Midler (New York - Bath house period), Robbie Robertson and anything by 'The Band', Country Joe and the Phish, Gail Anne Dorsey, Missy Elliot, Mathew Herbert, Quantic, Jazzanova, Another Fine Day and all music made with conviction and gumption. The Suspension of Disbelief and Aunty Betty....her singing was awesome.
Sounds Like: These are not my words, but have been compared on various occassions by the hard of hearing too Kate Bush, Joan Armatrading, KD Lang, Annie Lennox, David Lynch style quirkyness. Personally I have no idea. I think I sound great, but so does everyone who gives it largeness for the global massive. Once a reviewer even said I sounded like 'second rate Madonna' which I thought was kinda cool. Mak up your own mind though!
