About Me

NO AGGRESSIVE PATRIOTISM/NATIONALISM AND/OR PRO-WAR POLITICS, PLEASE!!! REQUESTS FROM SUCH PROFILES WILL BE REJECTED. I RESPECT YOUR STAND (TO A CERTAIN EXTENT), BUT I'M SIMPLY NOT INTERESTED.
Been born. Have lived (still do).
Definitely plan to live some more. Will eventually die.
Master of film arts and sciences, with a minor degree in French, from NTNU .
Born and bred in the windy coastal town of Kristiansund, in central Norway. Currently employed in the preservation of audiovisual material at The National Library of Norway , situated in Mo i Rana, just below the Arctic Circle.
Apart from making my own music, by myself, I also play the keyboards and do vocal duties in progressive rock band Pscience . Well, I'm probably a little more creative in that setting for the time being! Do come visit:
Former member of such legendary acts as:
- Arizona (formerly Bad) (hard rock/classic rock) (1985-88)
- Easy Target (hard rock) (1988)
- Gate One (pop/blue-eyed soul) (1989-90)
- Rain Men (pop/synth pop) (1990)
- Nobody Knows (blues/rock) (1990-91)
- Plysj (pop/rock/alternative) (1993-95)
- Navel Flush (progressive/alternative/rock) (2000-01)
- ION (progressive/rock/synth/industrial) (2001-03)
and most recently,
- Allfader (metal) (2001-04).
BTW, when you're done here, make sure you check out their space - they're the best:
During my band wise hiatus in the late 90's, I made music for plays, short films, TV and such.
There have also been - occasionally there still are - other fruitful collaborations going down. Notably with my good pals (both musically and personally) from Kristiansund, formative and John Berge . You really should check 'em out some time!
I perform on the following equipment:
Home/studio rig:
- Korg M1 (a modern classic; we all know this one)
- Korg Poly 800 (not very versatile, but up for some intriguing sounds)
- Roland SH-2000 (monophonic, dirty little bugger, for solos and stuff)
+ miscellaneous soft synths on my MacBook.
Band/live rig:
- Korg N5EX (a new, very interesting and welcome addition)
- Korg DW8000 (I have two words for ya: Kevin Moore!)
- Korg Wavestation SR (for those wide open sonic dreamscapes)
- Roland D-50 (another modern classic; irresistible in every way)
- Roland JX8P (my oldest, dearest synth; I've had it since 1986)
and my Shure SM-58 mic (suits my voice like none other I know).
Yes, I'm basically a Korg/Roland guy! Oh, you guessed ...?
Stands by Quicklok (sturdy stuff!), seating by Yamaha (comfy stuff!).
My old trusted Yamaha DX7S is sadly defunct ...
So, does anybody have a suitable power supply to spare?
Computing by Apple - exclusively. Why? Because it saves me a lot of trouble. And those babies - MacBook 13" and iMac G5 17" - look darn good, too!
