Influences: For husband and wife team Jerome Sydenham and Christine Pedersen there are numerous influences. With Sydenham’s upbringing in Africa, artists like Fela Kuti, Jorge Ben and George Clinton were huge influences when he was a kid, non-withstadning his extreme love for African music, Jazz, Disco, Soul, Hip-Hop and R&B. With Pedersen’s Scandinavian background Ibadan has started to have a more European focus and until today their home is still full of records from all kinds genres from around the world.
Sounds Like: With some of the biggest club hits of the past ten years under his belt including the immense Ferrer & Sydenham Inc. Sandcastles (Defected) & Timbuktu (Ibadan), See Line Woman (Ibadan), Stockholm-Go Bang! and a monster remix of Julien Jabre’s “Swimming Places (Defected), Jerome Sydenham at 40 years old is and still remains a bona fide hit maker.
